Just some fun Memes above but really – true for so many! YES, there are those that don’t think about food but I bet in the minority otherwise we would not have an obesity problem along with the % of people who gain back weight after being on a “diet”. I hate that word! 🙂 Of course it is a mindset BUT for me, one I never really broke as you will read below.
AS FOR ABS – it is a body fat thing! You can do all the core exercises in the world but if you don’t get the body fat low, you will not see them. AND for some it is harder than others – like me!
My friend Lori wrote this in her post last week – “I’ve been working at paying more attention to my eating again after our Mardi Gras party. I just love food. That’s what makes it hard. Yes, I stress eat, but I also just really like food LOL!”
I LOVE her honesty!!! She lost over 100 pounds & has kept it off! Go see her & her cutie cat Pixie & all the amazing DYI stuff she does on top of life!
So why I am citing the above…..
WELL, I am going to say that even though I lost my weight back in high school, I have never stopped wanting to eat those things I learned to give up. YES, I HAVE BALANCE IN LIFE WITH MY COOKIE TREATS! You all see my pics almost every weekend but HONESTLY I just love to eat & never lost that craving for many of the things I no longer eat. I have made choices on what treats I think are worth it to me BUT I do not eat all the things I still crave to this day.
When I was heavy, I ate all the Hostess treats and cookies & brownies & chips & pretty much anything that had all the bad fats & sugars in them. I also was a CRACKERHOLIC! I loved crackers – still do BUT I don’t bring them into the house.
I was a sweets person. I never was one to crave the meat & potatoes & regular food. MY THING WAS SWEETS & crackers! Yes, I ate chips & all but SWEETS & CRACKERS were my thing. I STILL CRAVE BOTH TODAY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS AND BEING OFF THEM ALL THESE YEARS – 40 PLUS YEARS LATER AFTER LOSING MY WEIGHT.
I know there are those people out there that say they never craved the “bad” foods again after losing their weight. They have no desire to eat them. I am not sure all of them are telling the truth. 🙂 Of course some are but I think many – professional weight loss experts especially – that just don’t want to tell the truth for fear of turning people off. Don’t believe everything you see & read on social media and TV!
ME – I TELL THE TRUTH BECAUSE I THINK PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THAT THESE FEELINGS ARE GOING TO COME BACK TO HAUNT THEM! We all know how easy it is to eat the stuff we love – THE STUFF THAT IS NOT THE BEST FOR US OR OUR WEIGHT OR OUR HEALTH! It is not eating that stuff that is the hard part! I am not saying you can never eat it BUT YOU ALL KNOW THAT IT CAN’T BE EVERY DAY OR EVERY MEAL. Balance in life but you have to decide what you want for yourself, how you want to look for yourself & then develop your own food plan based on that.
I know this is going to depress people or you might say how can anyone lose & maintain if you still crave stuff that many years later!!! Well, YOU CAN! YES YOU CAN!!! It is definitely a mind & mental battle but it can be done!!!
