1. BLAST THE BELLY FAT!

Ummmmmmmmmmm, yeah sure! So much of this out there! It really is frustrating & people still believe this crap! People so badly want the quick fix or easy way out – it is NOT there!!! January starts this  up & then as we close in on bathing suit season, the headlines come out again! Dr. J wrote a great post on April Fool’s Day about this! Please check it out HERE & all his other posts! Great reads!

OK, you all know that I have written endlessly about this! I had to work hard in my younger years & from 50 on it has been a constant re-evaluation of my exercise & food program to maintain my weight! It is hard work but it is worth it TO ME! We all have to decide how much we want to do to feel comfortable in our own skin. No one person is right or wrong. It is all about what is right FOR YOU!

I just responded to a post yesterday with this: I live the fitness life & have for 30+++
years. From 50 to now 56.5, I can’t tell you how many times I have changed up
my food program! I always had to be careful – hard body type even with my
hard core workouts. From peri to menopause, it really is challenging. The
biggest mistakes – like you wrote but included in what I will note here: Consistency is so important. Patience – it is slow when we are young so age
makes it even more so. YES, people sneak in these bites all thru the day
& never count the calories. I once wrote a post on this & people can
add 500+++ calories a day! 3500 calories is 1 pound – do the math & the
weight comes on. People underestimate how much & how many calories
they are eating & overestimate how many calories they are burning off – ya
can’t out exercise a bad diet. Special occasions. We just can’t celebrate
everything. Again, a post I did on this – people celebrate everything under the
sun – ya have to choose your battles. AND it always comes down to how much a
person wants to put into it.. it takes a lot to keep your weight down as we age
so a person has to decide for themselves how important it is to them & what
they are willing to do to maintain.  AND take the word diet out of the
vocabulary..

2. ON to Healthcarea touchy subject but I am going to put my two cents in here!

For those that work for a business that provides healthcare, you may not realize some of this. For those that make tons of money & can afford anything, you may not realize this. The middle class & self employed are the ones that got the shaft with our old healthcare system. YES, it is not the best system BUT that is because our Congress fought with one another instead of working together to get the best system for all of us. Those that know me know my opinion on this but I will not put it down here.

I just want to tell you how this new healthcare system helped me & hubby. Before this, we would have paid $350-$400 a month for basically emergency healthcare – meaning a $10,000 deductible before you ever can start using it. It also did NOT have free preventative care!!! Who wants to know how many years it has been since I have been to the doctor? With the new system, we could have had the above emergency care for $2 a month. Yes, we qualify for help thru the new system. What we did get was a plan that would have cost us close to $800 a month for $150 a month PLUS those free preventative office visits! This is still a lot of money for us & not sure where we will find it but since we have not been to the doc in a long time, best to go this way vs. less care – just in case.

No, it is not the best system out there but it is helping a lot of people! Not only that, you can’t be denied for pre-existing conditions. With the high cost of education, kids being in the home & in college longer can stay on their parents plan longer. Yes, there are not so great things but for us, the pros outweigh the cons. I am really NOT HAPPY with companies trying to take advantage of this & not covering people any more OR cutting hours back so they don’t have to provide healthcare. NOT GOOD!

That is my personal take. Many will disagree but this is my personal experience. I know there are stories that say the opposite.. this is just my story.

3. UPDATE on energy & endurance with X2Performance: So Tuesday I wrote a post about my experience with this product.

Again to refresh your memory OR if you have not read it:  They
sent me a trial 4 pack for free.
 Being up front like I
am
, I
will be compensated for this campaign once I complete my test of the
product & deliverables. In other words, a limited time for me paid
sponsorship. The
statements on the product have not been
evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to
diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease.

I LOVE the product so far! I used it Sunday thru Tuesday with amazing results. TONS of energy & endurance & great recovery. I took off yesterday just to see what would happen. I think I may have had a little left over from Tuesday because I did have a lots of energy left over. I was not as strong finishing my workout without it but still did good. I will be taking it again for today’s workout. It is leg day 2 so I wanted it for that! I am now out of the product & I think I will take advantage of the free trial offer below. I can do that once myself even though they sent me 4 free. I DO want to mention that price is a bit high if you want to use all month & on a monthly basis. I like it but can’t afford right now but maybe something I took less than every workout .. they recommend every day but I would probably not do that due to price. Taste – forgot to mention that. Some thought it tasted so-so, others not great. Me – it is “OK”. It is not bad or good TO ME. It is a small bottle it is a quick shot of it & you are done. You can always drink your own water or whatever you bring with you to the gym right after.

Again, it does have some caffeine in it BUT is NSF Certified for Sport Approved. Read my post for further details on this & ingredients.

Here are the details again about the free trial offer:

Get free trial HERETry this for free! There is a limited time offer & you do have to select a subscription plan & pay $5.95 shipping charge –BUT YOU CAN CANCEL the subscription at any time and still receive your free trial – even before your first shipment. CLICK HERE to try it

So that is it for today – I know, lots of reading!

  3. My husband & I also are benefiting from the new healthcare system. It’s NOT the best, but it will get there. We used to pay almost $1,300 a month for the 2 of us to have medical insurance. We now pay less than $400 for a plan that is just as good as our old one. I truly believe that the affordable care act is here to help the middle class like us. Those who work hard every single day to provide the best for our families, but cannot afford a crazy amount for insurance.

  8. Those “lose the belly fat” scams kill me – you would think that people know there is no truth to them!!
I’m glad that the new healthcare system is benefitting y’all. I hope that you can make it work to pay the $150/month. I’m a big advocate of the preventative stuff and yearly well-checks!!!
Because we have military insurance we have good insurance but I have seen some changes – not sure if it is just our city or everywhere but fewer and fewer Drs are accepting our insurance. Sad since there is still (and probably will be for many years) a war that my husband as well as 1,000s of others are part of. Frustrating to only have a handful of Drs to choose from but it is what it is!!

  9. Ugg. Those ads are popping up in my Facebook feed more and more often every day!
I find it so hard to believe that anybody falls for them, but somebody must if they continue to be used!

  10. I think the new healthcare system will help some and not others, like the old one. I know several families that would be required to pay over $1000/month and still have high deductibles, who have previously been managing healthcare through a personal savings plan on their own. For me, I am lucky to have a job with good insurance coverage, so I am less impacted. But since I work for a medical device company, I am seeing how the insurance industry is being effected and our products may not be available to as many people in the future due to the insurance company’s ability to afford it. There’s always tradeoffs! 🙂

  11. I really appreciate you telling your healthcare story. It’s great to see people openly talking about their successes.

I am also trying to blast some belly fat so this was really helpful!

  12. I had a similar catastrophic plan for $300/month. It didn’t cover anything. My new plan costs about as much before the subsidy, but it has a $500 deductible and annual well-checks are covered at no cost. I’ll have to change doctors, but there are plenty to choose from around here. It’s a winner for me!

  13. Heather, thank you for sharing your side of it. We need to hear it all… I do think some companies & insurance companies are doing things specifically to get back at this new healthcare law cause they lose money vs. all the billions that have sucked from people over time. Insurance companies bought lobbyists to fight against people’s rights & honestly their fight to get health care to stay alive. I saw this personally with people fighting insurance companies for life saving cancer treatment. Just my humble & personal opinion.

  15. Kim, I hear ya!!!! It is hard.. I do think some companies & yes doctors are taking advantage of this to not help people cause they don’t make as much… tough all ways.

I have been surfing online more than three hours nowadays, but I by no means discovered any interesting article like yours. It is pretty price sufficient for me. Personally, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you probably did, the internet might be much more helpful than ever before.|

  21. Had to chime in on what you are saying
about the new health care plan. I 100%
agree with you. Not the best plan out there but for myself a self employed
woman with a college age son living at
home, it has been a life saver. I now
pay $214 for the both of us with an
excellent ( so far ) plan. I was told
by my former insurance company that my
plan was going up to $795 in January !
If it were not for the new health care
plan, we would have had to either go
without insurance or do what you and
your husband did and that is get by with
an emergency plan only. Like you before
this my last physical was over 7 years ago, because I could not afford it. For
me this new plan has been a God send.

PS. I find you blog very inspirational
Makes me what to get back on the fitness
    bandwagon

I have heard that you can make money from blogging, but i really don’t understand the concept. How do you make the money? How much can you make? Is it hard? Is it easy? Is it time consuming? Is it worth it? If you could answer that would be great, thanks..
