This is my own personal cause & for those that don't have one, they may want to think about donating to one of the Sarcoma
Foundations below. My mother passed away from a rare form of cancer called Lipsarcoma. It is one of about 50 subtypes of sarcomas that affect all age groups from the youngest to the oldest. It is a
"a cancer that begins in the muscle, fat, fibrous tissue, blood vessels, or other supporting tissue of the body". There is no cure & funding is low because of its rarity. As some of you may know,
the rarer the form of cancer, the less money that is usually allocated to it by the larger organizations or the NIH (National Health Institute) as well as fewer people donate because they just don't
know about it. This cancer just keeps coming back, grows back where it already was & spreads to other areas as well. You can learn more about it at these links.
Welcome to Gratitude Monday. Each Monday, stop by & comment on what you are grateful for & how it will impact you to live a healthier life going forward. How it impacts you does not have to be food or exercise related. It can be in any way, shape or form! If you just want to write a grateful comment & nothing else, that is fine too. If your comment is the same as another one, so be it. Everything goes here.
First off, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend - well, those of us in the U.S. that celebrate Thanksgiving. Even if you don't celebrate it now, hope you had a great one!
We met my youngest stepdaughter & hubby for Thanksgiving at a restaurant. It was buffet style & lots of good eats but the best thing for me was the beautiful sunset in the pic above along with the company! Buffets are really a waste of money for me so I just enjoyed the people & snuck (I know, not a real word) in my own food. Well, enough food to get me buy & then I ate more when I got home.
Since I lost 5 sick days to cleaning for my sis visit, also spent time working on getting the house in order. I am NOT a clean freak or even close to it! More to do this week!
We had beautiful weather here in southern CA so hubby & I also made sure to get out & enjoy!!!! Always have to do that too! I spent many many years doing errands all weekend long because I worked too many hours during the week. We like to find time every weekend to get out & sit & relax!
I also had post bday cookies since I was sick on my 55th. I ate & forgot to take pics! DOH, I did try a sugar cookie shaped like a Christmas tree with red sprinkles from Peet's coffee & it was pretty good! Hubby had one too! This cookie weekend also included a love of mine - molasses cookie from Whole Fodds!!!
Thankful for the wonderful weekend even including the cleaning - at least I am not sick anymore!!!
Hope you had a wonderful one! Anybody want to share stories from their weekend?
