This is my own personal cause & for those that don't have one, they may want to think about donating to one of the Sarcoma
Foundations below. My mother passed away from a rare form of cancer called Lipsarcoma. It is one of about 50 subtypes of sarcomas that affect all age groups from the youngest to the oldest. It is a
"a cancer that begins in the muscle, fat, fibrous tissue, blood vessels, or other supporting tissue of the body". There is no cure & funding is low because of its rarity. As some of you may know,
the rarer the form of cancer, the less money that is usually allocated to it by the larger organizations or the NIH (National Health Institute) as well as fewer people donate because they just don't
know about it. This cancer just keeps coming back, grows back where it already was & spreads to other areas as well. You can learn more about it at these links.

Gratitude Monday, Gasoline Prices & Athleta
Monday February 20, 2012
Welcome to Gratitude Monday. Each Monday, stop by & comment on what you are grateful for & how it will impact you to live a healthier life going forward. How it impacts you does not have to be food or exercise related. It can be in any way, shape or form! If you just want to write a grateful comment & nothing else, that is fine too. If your comment is the same as another one, so be it. Everything goes here!
Today I am grateful for a contest I entered at KNBC here in southern CA. As you all know, gasoline prices are skyrocketing. They are over $4. Around the corner from me - $4.09 to $4.13 and they say it is going to go up again!!!! Holy crap! Costco has the best prices around here but when gas gets like this, you can wait an hour in line even with multiple Costco's around here!
KNBC4 here in my area is having a contest to win a $400 gas card!!! I entered & am I finalist! I have to send in some paperwork & if it all works out - I win! You all have read my posts on the money shortage in my home so I am hoping all is good & I win. How exciting if I win it!!! YOU HAVE TO LIVE IN THIS AREA THOUGH SO SORRY FOR THOSE OUTSIDE OF SOUTHERN CA.
I also won an Athleta $150 gift card not too long ago & now this! I should play the lotto! Just a couple of the things I bought at Athleta in the pics above. Yes, my hair is in dire need of cut & color!!!!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! What are you thankful for today?

Good luck with the contest. You are the second friend who is tempting me with Athleta but I am tough, I can resist, I think... Happy Monday, Jody. Reply to this

Oh - I hope you win the gas card and am glad you got the gift card from Althea - I love their line. Today, I'm grateful that it stopped raining and I don't have to drive anywhere today. Gas is $3.50 here - yikes. Reply to this

I've won a few blog giveaways and that always makes me want to run out and buy a lottery ticket! Gas is bad here too but not that expensive and no lines. I remember when I was a kid and we had the gas shortage and we could only buy gas on certain days that corresponded with our car's license plate. Long lines then! So I'm grateful that at least we don't have that! And I'm grateful that my husband usually takes the cars and gasses up which makes me feel pampered. Reply to this
