This is my own personal cause & for those that don't have one, they may want to think about donating to one of the Sarcoma
Foundations below. My mother passed away from a rare form of cancer called Lipsarcoma. It is one of about 50 subtypes of sarcomas that affect all age groups from the youngest to the oldest. It is a
"a cancer that begins in the muscle, fat, fibrous tissue, blood vessels, or other supporting tissue of the body". There is no cure & funding is low because of its rarity. As some of you may know,
the rarer the form of cancer, the less money that is usually allocated to it by the larger organizations or the NIH (National Health Institute) as well as fewer people donate because they just don't
know about it. This cancer just keeps coming back, grows back where it already was & spreads to other areas as well. You can learn more about it at these links.
Happy Valentine's Day! Course I have to start out by saying how much I love my hubby of 28 years - 29 this year! Course have to add the 2 years we knew each other prior to that! There will be ups & downs all thru life but love & compromise will get you thru!
Saw the below quote here (LeAura Alderson) and had to share & maybe that is why my marriage has lasted along with compromise & yes, not giving up!
"Love
is the ability and willingness to allow those that you care for to be what they choose for themselves without any insistence
that they satisfy you."
— Wayne Dyer: is an American self-help advocate, author, and lecturer
So, on this day of love - aren't we always giving that love to others.. not a bad thing - BUT do you give yourself some self-love or do you throw that negative self-talk at yourself?
I am the first to say that I struggle with this. I have been a work in progress on this all my life. It is often hard to get past those negative voices from when we were younger but the key is to keep trying!
Just like weight loss & exercise, take baby steps to give yourself some self-love.
Start with saying something nice about yourself 1 time a day. If that is hard, maybe every other day. If you catch yourself starting to negative self-talk, promise yourself you will stop & think about it for 10 minutes & WHY you are doing it!
Carla was talking about this on her FB page the other day - learn to accept compliments rather than deflect them! I had a hard time doing this when I was younger but I actually can accept compliments now!
There are a lot of baby steps you can take to learn to like & love yourself! How about we all start today - on this love day - by learning to love ourselves too!
“All that we are is
the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we
become.” -Buddha
I like your suggestion of saying something nice about yourself at least once a day. Also, accepting compliments is something I struggle with.

Nice article and a good reminder to be as kind to ourselves as we are to our family and friends.
Today I showed myself some love by going for my morning walk and eating healthy! Reply to this

Exercise is my favorite form of self love! When I'm sweaty and feeling the pump I always feel pleased with myself. Today, I only had 20 minutes, so I hopped on the ARC trainer and pushed out some hard intervals. Endorphins = love! Happy Valentines day, Jody! Reply to this

Nice post . Self love leads to happiness, not the other way around... when we love ourselves, we allow ourselves to be successful and happy. Such a fundamental truth, which applies to our health as well! Reply to this
I'm thinking that going to yoga is self-love for me
