Time to Fly - Let's Run...
First, thx to all that responded to my hungry children post yesterday & also those that shared or tweeted it out there! That Dr. Oz show was sobering & scary!

I am writing about these shoes again because I love them AND with the holidays upon us, maybe some of you that want them can ask for them!
You all know I LOVE my Hoka One One running shoes! Yes, many people like the minimalist & as I always say, to each their own. For me, these saved my very bad feet & allow me to exercise like I did before my feet "turned bad". I have also read many stories on the Hoka One One FB page that tell similar stories but for different injury issues than mine. I also love that these ultrarunners & marathon people are the runners that wear these shoes. It says something that people that are logging major miles prefer these shoes because they save their feet & joints plus help them improve their times & PR's. If they are good enough for people that run 50-100 miles plus per race over hard terrain, they are good enough for me!!
NO, I AM NOT PAID BY HOKA ONE ONE. I just love the shoes & what they have done for me so I am sharing a newsletter I got not too long ago. Yes, they are a bit more expensive then some shoes but not all shoes. For me, I was always buying special inserts on top of buying shoes. I don't do that anymore. Also, if they help you with preventing injuries or like me, just let me work out without foot pain, well, they are worth the price. Yes, I have to save for them & wish I could have more than 1 pair at a time & wish I could have the walking shoes too for every day but I will take the ones I have & love them!
Feel free to check out their FB page & their main site!
Fellow Runners:
Hoka One One is leading the running shoe revolution with maximally cushioned midsoles that offer superior protection, comfort and propulsion. The distinctive rockered geometry creates a platform for optimally efficient natural running mechanics. The oversized outsoles allow for maximum stability, traction and connection to the ground. Not only do the shoes provide a sense of weightlessness, superior comfort and efficiency, but Hoka’s athlete results prove optimal performance — recording more than 30 podium finishes on five continents in the past 18 months. Additionally, these running shoes are 15 percent lighter than most others, they make running uphill as much fun as they make running downhill and with less body fatigue.
ATHLETES:
Dave Mackey continues to dominate the U.S. ultrarunning scene. Just to name a few of his victories this year: Miwok 100K, American River 50-Miler, U.S. 100K Trail Championships (at the Bandera 100K) and the Montrail Ultra Cup Series.
In 2010 Karl Meltzer finished the 2,064-mile Pony Express Trail in 40 days, an amazing feat that no one had ever achieved. Additionally he recorded his 31st career 100-mile win at Pinhoti 100 with a new course record and finished his fifth
100 of the year.

Again, just writing about stuff I really love & more of that coming up next week with a post about some of the things I have reviewed & still love & use. Maybe a couple will be things you can get for yourself as a reward for all your hard work.... OR, maybe ask somebody for a holiday gift! Hey, it is for keeping you fit & healthy! More next week PLUS a sneak peek at a product review I am very excited about!
Is there one thing you just love so much that you have to share with all???

Except when I am on my bike, or in a public place I don't wear shoes at all anymore -- even running. I don't run that much -- about 9-12 miles per week, but when I do I am a true barefoot runner. This was a complete turnaround for me, as even a year ago I would live and die in my Brooks shoes. I do still wear them when I sprint, which isn't that often.
As far as what I love so much I want to share with others..... The joy of Steamed Brussels sprouts -- with just a pinch of salt. Delish!

Roy, those brussels sprouts were noted as the most hated veggie in a news report a couple weeks ago BUT all I see lately is good recipes for them everywhere. I guess the lovers of them are fighting back!

I'm glad you found shoes that work for you, Jody!
As for Brussels sprouts, it was my most avoided vegetable until I got some fresh off the plant at a local farm! I am Dr. J and I love Brussels sprouts

Hi Jody! Absolutely love the shirt you won--what a super great print on it! Why can't more fitness tanks be interesting like that?!!!
I think you should ask Hoka for a complementary pair. You have been unselfishly promoting their shoes *so much.* I even told a Scottish blogger with foot problems about Hoka shoes because of your posts.
