I am 54 Today - YIKES!

Today is my birthday & I am now officially 54!!! HOLY COW! How come it seems like yesterday that I was just turning 40. AND, how come my mind says I am 25 & I act like I am 12!!!
Honestly, I feel about 40 & work out like I am 25! Honestly too, it feels really weird to think that I am 1 year shy of 55! When I was younger, I thought anyone that old was OLD! But just the fact that I can say that, well, it just does nor seem possible. Where did the time go!!!
It is funny, when I look at friends that I have known for years, I still see them the way I did when I first met them. I don't see them with their age on them. I have had people tell me the same thing. I guess it falls in with that "we are too hard on ourselves" thing!
Anyway, for today, just sharing past pics. It is a good way to compare & I am happy with this year's pic. As I said yesterday, the hormones decided to be good & that hormone stubborn stuff disappeared. I was going to take a pic even if it had not disappeared just to show you how different hormone weight can make a body look. I am glad it cooperated though!
Hubby DID fix the face - softened it up & took out some lines. He also made my nose a little smaller. I told him NOT to but he did anyway. Sure, I like it a bit smaller but I was trying to keep this as real as possible. The body was NOT altered at all! He was trying to get out shadows on the fence behind me & took just a little of my front top hamstring out by mistake. I did not want him to spend any more time fixing the shadows - very time consuming so had him leave it as is!
Course you see my Hoka shoes in my Fit at 54 picture that keep me in the exercising mode!!

BTW, saw this over at Roz's place & with my love of cookies, had to share although I eat them when I am happy. I get happier with my treat cookies!

I lived in Dover, Delaware at this time & they celebrated May Day there!
I grew up back east & yes, I wore ear muffs & loved them! They were pink! I also had a winter hand muff but NOT the wedding one in the link!
YES, I went there. It was the thing to wear back then in that first pic. I was obviously wearing my leos long past when I should have stopped!
I dabbled with super short hair at one point! This was in Hawaii!

Hi Jody, I have been following you (on and off) for awhile now... I am 47 and love fitness and nutrition. I enjoy your site and your inspiration and knowledge. So I wanted to wish you a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! and looking at your pics I think you just keep looking better and better... and younger each year! people often guess me at 30something - I truely believe if you eat good and exercise that you can look younger as you get older - weird but wonderful!
