Bra Whisperer; Core/Ab work

Thursday November 10, 2011

I was actually going to take the day off from posting today BUT I saw this segment on my recorded Kathie Lee & Hoda segment from the 4th hour of The Today Show.

Not only does it show how a good fitting bra can help you look & feel better BUT I loved the models they used - REAL people with REAL bodies. Check it out HERE.

I must admit, I don't wear a bra a lot due to my lack of endowment there. Since I am in more casual clothes a lot, I wear a "workout type" top or one of the few you see me wearing in just about every pic I post on my blog. Not many clothes here!

I also wanted to mention again the hollow rocks from Tuesday's post. I have been adding these in & I am really feeling them! Thx Kris Beal!
SO, give the hollow rocks a try!

The thing with ab/core work is change is good like any other body part or cardio session. For me, I have found I really have to find different ways to hit the abs/core. I tend to keep a few faves always but maybe work them in a different order or style. I then add in new things like the hollow rocks or some others I have learned along the way & just keep cycling different exercises with my faves. Changing order and/or resistance & just slight ways I hold my body make a huge difference. I love planks like the rest of you but do mix it up & there are many different ways to do planks that hit the core differently. Just a reminder to change up the ab/core routine too!

Have you ever had a bra fitting? Has getting "the right bra" made you look & feel better?

Do you change up your ab/core routine too?

I've never had a bra fitting, but thanks to watching "What Not To Wear" for many seasons once I lost weight I knew what kind I should use. When the girls start looking like a belly, its time to get a new bra.

I need a bra! The worst part is that in my 40s and after having lost a lot of weight, I need a push up type bra just to put them back where they are supposed to be

I rarely wear one either. Yes, I've had a fitting. But the manufacturers clearly don't think that us tiny breasted women might need a pretty bra that doesn't make us look like we have cones on our chest!

I lost my breasts with my weight, so I don't have too much to corral. I do need a new, "nice" bra or two.

No, never had a bra fitting but tried on a bunch once & eventually found a better fitting bra than I was using at the time. The better fitting bra did make a difference. Due to budget constraints, mostly try to buy better quality bras at the discount stores (like Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls) but selection is always hit & miss.

Yes, do try to change up ab/core routine. Those hollow rocks look challenging (which is a good thing)!

Hollow rocks - i will hate that exercise tomorrow, I am sure.
Bras... no comment. It used to be easier; any would do; these days... another 'benefit' of being over 50, I guess. So how come I think and act as if I were still 30? Time to grow up ;(

Hi Jody! Thanks for stopping by blog! I've been to yours *many* times! Great stuff here. We have *very many* similar views.

Regarding bras: I'm a curvy girl who wears an underwire exercise bra. It keeps me exactly in place so there is no shifting or wiggling--so I can be free to be upside down, sideways, backways or any which way at the gym with confidence.

My 3 daughters and I really wish that mothers of young teenage curvy girls would get them very sturdy exercise bras (suggestion: underwire)so that they are not forced to bounce around when they run like Charlie's Angels did in the t.v. show. I honestly think the bouncing makes these young girls lose all their confidence. Eventually, I'm going to write a post about this on my blog because--why put your teenage daughter in sports if they don't have the right undergarments to ever feel good about themselves in sports!
