Gratitude Monday & the Hair

Monday November 7, 2011

Welcome to Gratitude Monday. Each Monday, stop by & comment on what you are grateful for & how it will impact you to live a healthier life going forward. How it impacts you does not have to be food or exercise related. It can be in any way, shape or form! If you just want to write a grateful comment & nothing else, that is fine too. If your comment is the same as another one, so be it. Everything goes here!

Today I am grateful that is was finally "get the hair done day" this past Friday! My hair grows FAST & to save money, I really wait it out! June was the last time I got my hair cut. I color it about every 8-10 weeks though due to all the gray BUT I do 1 or 2 root touch-ups in between to stretch it! I really need it colored every 4 weeks but we all know how that goes!

Anyway, I got it all colored & cut & feels so great! Even have a pic for you!!! SURPRISE!  Yes, left the sunglasses on. I had an allergic reaction to something (I think a new detergent I used) that resulted in "allergic pink eye" so they are all puffy & red. I can't wear any eye make-up so hiding the eyes!  The reaction coincided with when I started using that detergent so.. it is much better but still recovering!

How often do you get your hair done? What are you grateful for today?

Today I am grateful for to be alive, safe, and intact. My wallet was stolen Friday right from my purse at Starbucks.

Your hair cut and color looks so pretty and soft. I have to get my hair cut every 3 weeks now that its short, but my color stays a long time so I go back every 9 weeks for color.

Carla, if my hair were straight & I could get away with it, I would stretch it further!

Karla - go for it! Before gray & having to stay lighter due to that, I loved changing colors!

Cute hair! I'm stretching out my colors and cuts, too, but only to a couple of months. I think I'm going to schedule an appointment for next week and hope that gets me through the holidays.

I too save money by putting off haircuts. In fact right now my hair is crazy out of control and I need to bite the bullet and make an appointment at the salon.

I'm like you - I don't get it cut too often because of $$ and time. I color my own every 3 months or so. I should probably (definitely) do it more often! Yours looks great!

I'm like you Jody! I wait a long time between cuts! It gets very long, but I like it that way and people are used to seeing it so I don't get any crap about it anymore Maybe one of the "perks" of being a surgeon is I can do some of the trimming myself. One time I asked my dad, also a surgeon to trim it a little and he really enjoyed doing it, lol!

Looks great! I get mine done tomorrow. I am looking quite gray at the moment I go about every 5 weeks and the roots at my part are really showing by then. My color is the kind that gradually fades but nothing to do about those darn roots growing out. I'm super grateful for my hairdresser. She works out of her basement and is very reasonably priced and very close by. She will probably move south after her son graduates high school this year and I am dreading it!

    Love the curls!

I do my hair about 4 times a year, just the cut. I have only done color a couple times, which was just highlighting. Too much upkeep and $$ for cheapie me LOL!

I am getting ready to get mine cut much shorter in a couple weeks to get through the holidays.
