Gratitude Monday & The Smoking Lady

I still LOVE this pic!
Welcome to Gratitude Monday. Each Monday, stop by & comment on what you are grateful for & how it will impact you to live a healthier life going forward. How it impacts you does not have to be food or exercise related. It can be in any way, shape or form! If you just want to write a grateful comment & nothing else, that is fine too. If your comment is the same as another one, so be it. Everything goes here!
If you recall, a couple weeks ago for Gratitude Monday, I wrote about offering up a kind word to people, even those you don't know, to make them feel better & pass on a smile. These little acts of kindness can make a person's day. They might even turn around a whole string of bad luck for a person & set them on the right track. We really have no idea how a small act can impact another person's life.
Yesterday, as I was doing my weekly outside run. It was a beautiful cool & clear day here & awesome sunrise so I already had it going good! My Hoka shoes were helping me thru & I was enjoying the beautiful morn.
As I was close to finishing, I passed a lady sitting on the curb outside her house in her PJ's smoking a cigarette. As I ran by, she said: "you look amazing". I thanked her, smiled & "puffed" (it was close to the end of an 80 minute run) - HARD WORK! She held up her cigarette. I breathlessly said, hopefully you can quit & she said she was trying.
It all caught me off guard as I get up with my curly/frizzy hair in all directions, put on a headband & out I go, hormone ravaged face & all. Heck, I go to the gym like that & there are lights in there!
SO - those kind words from a smoking lady made my day!!!!!!!!!! We never know where kindness will come from.....
How can you make a difference today & what things are making you thankful today?

Great job on your run Jody! Sounds delightful!
I hope to be able to be positive today, its my first day back to work since vacationing in Florida for a week. I am not quite ready to return.
I am grateful to had the chance to vacation in such a beautiful place this year.
