October Health Happenings
Thursday October 6, 2011
Why did I pick the pic above? We take care of ourselves & kids will learn from us!
As you all know, it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Lots of great organizations out there having events & selling products to donate a portion of the proceeds to help fight it.
I am going to take this month to address a few health issues & not just breast cancer. I hope you learn from them posts as each one will discuss a different subject.
You are all used to hearing me chat about good ole perimenopause to menopause. I will be reviewing this book, the pursuit of hormone happiness from Shmirshky which will help ALL WOMEN AND MEN.
Along with that review, I will be reviewing the Dry Babe products for those of you with night sweats or hot flashes. I am wearing it as I type this!
They are adding new items to their line in October so I will wait until then to post about this. You can certainly check out their products & info now though! They are also donating 10% of all sales to Susan G. Komen for the Cure all October & BEYOND!!
There is a "hidden" autoimmune condition that I plan to write about too. Like perimenopause & menopause & people not talking about it, this is another condition that people may have & don't want to share & need help. One of my readers has it but wants to stay anonymous for now.
I also posted about Everyday Health HERE. I was really impressed with the first show I watched & plan to record it each weekend. I may be posting about that too!!!
I have more coming up but just wanted to share! ![]()
What is up for your October? Any health issues you want me to post about?

I do breast cancer research, and so this month means a lot to me...not only for the grant funding many researchers recieve from it, but from the fundraising and morale boost I see in cancer patients an their families. I love initiatives that move beyond the cancer and try to help breast cancer survivors and their families live a better life...I'd love hearing about initiatives and organizations like that.

Looks like a great line-up, Jody!
I had a round with an autoimmune disfunction (alopecia) over the past couple of years. I never realized how important my hair was to me until I was missing big chunks of it.

Cammy, I used to work out with a lady whose child had that. Glad you got back on track & you do have an amazing attitude! With hormones, I have gone thru different stages with my hair...

Looking forward to seeing your thoughts. I have a friend dealing with leukemia, and she has lost a lot of weight. Healthy eating is so important no matter what we are dealing with.
