Harbinger Workout Gloves Review & GIVEAWAY

Tuesday September 20, 2011

Yesterday I mentioned that I would be reviewing workout gloves from Harbinger Fitness Products. Again, I have 4 pair of their gloves but 1 pair I have had since November 2010. I will be doing a GIVEAWAY for the Women's Pro 149 glove in pink & black seen above!

My oldest pair of gloves:

Men's 143 Pro glove. When I got these, they were a wash & dry glove but I see on their website that it is no longer that now. You can read my original post HERE. I LOVE this glove! It has held up great for almost a year & protects my hands! I wear a size small in this men's glove. I do have chubby fingers so dainty women my have problems with this men's glove fitting them right.

As I said, it was wash & dry when I got it & has held up thru the washer/dryer & all the punishment with my crazy workouts! I wash them EVERY week! Honestly, I have had other gloves that I wore thru in less than 3 months so these have held their ground for me.

My only complaints - I wish Harbinger would have left them wash & dry! I AM LAZY that way AND I WISH THEY MADE A WOMAN'S GLOVE EXACTLY LIKE THIS WITH ALL THE SAME PADDING AS THE MEN'S VERSION. Seems all glove companies don't make women's gloves as sturdy as the men's gloves.

I also have 3 additional gloves:

Women's Pro 149 in black & pink: GIVEAWAY for this one and they are the Wash & Dry type!!! You can throw them in your washer & dryer. I use one of those "delicate garment bags" & put mine in there before I wash & dry.

See how cute they are above! I wore a size medium in these. These gloves don't cover as much of my hand/palm as my existing Harbinger gloves & the padding is less BUT I still liked them. Many women don't lift as crazy as I do so I think these would be fine for any women that lifts weights UNLESS you are a super serious or heavy weight lifter. In that case OR if you lift crazy like me, I just prefer a men's glove with a bit more padding.

Lori, over at Finding Radiance won a pair of these pink gloves & has been wearing them for 9 months. See a recent pic HERE. She told me this: "I have to admit that I used my gloves for biking as well and not just lifting so they get a ton of use. They are wearing out at the thumbs and the padding is starting to separate on my palms."

In my opinion, if she wore them both for lifting AND biking, I say they lasted a long time for all that use! Lori is a serious bike rider and she lifts seriously!

So, check these gloves out & a pretty color if you want to get someone a gift for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. I agree with Lori - you can use them for a lot of things if you want to, not just lifting. Hey, even if you are lifting stuff around the house, they will help protect your hands OR doing gardening with the garden tools! Less callouses on these pretty hands of yours!

Men's FlexFit 138: This glove is very similar to the the Women's Pro 149 in fit & padding. Slightly more padding on the men's glove but in a size small for me, it fit like the women's Pro 149 in medium. In fact, for some of my testing I wore one of the men's 138 and one of the women's 149 at the same time. Wearing them together, they felt exactly the same! I have pics of all 4 gloves at the end of the post.

These are also the Wash & Dry type so loving that!!!!!

Men's training grip 1260: I got a size Small in these & they were still a bit big for me BUT I loved how much padding they had for my serious lifting. When I wore these gloves, I never even thought about the weights against my palms. What I mean by that is with some of the less padded gloves, sometimes you feel the pressure against your palm or between your fingers. With these, I never thought about any of that period because I did not feel anything that bothered me. For me, LOVED the padding & the glove.

My only complaints: Wish they made a women's glove just like this and being lazy, I want every glove I wear to be Wash & Dry. These are hand wash & air dry.

I know many are fine with that but I love the convenience of the wash & dry and the gloves that have this feature still hold up over time or at least my old pair did. Time will tell on my newer ones but I expect the same!

So there ya have it on my testing of these gloves. If you like gloves with wristwraps or kickboxing/martial arts/bagwork or power gloves they have those too! I just prefer gloves without wristwraps! Click HERE for the home page since they have way more than just gloves. From there, you can see the area for womensmens gloves AND there other goodies! I am testing their antimicrobial treated mat.

GIVEAWAY for a pair of Women's Pro 149 in black & pink:

1. Leave a comment about why resistance training is important to you OR how you would use the gloves on top of lifting like Lori who used them for biking too.

2. For an extra entry, leave a separate comment that you shared on your FB page or blog.

3. For even another entry, check out Harbinger on their FB page & let me know you did...

You can do one or all of the above but just leave a separate comment for each one. I will choose a winner by random number generator & announce the winner on next week.

Below is a pic of all my gloves. I bet you can guess which ones I have had for almost a year!

Disclaimer: I was not compensated in any way although I did receive the gloves for free. The opinions expressed in this post are entirely my own.

I love weight training because of the way it makes me feel....TERRIFIC! It has also helped my hypothyroid diease stay in check, keep my body relatively fit, my emotions on a more even keel and have way more enrgy than ever before. I thought gloves were just for heavy lifters or hard core people but I have found that lifting weights is easier for grip wearing gloves and they really do cut down on the wear and tear of my hands. Thank you to you and women like you who inspire the rest of us to try new things to keep fit and healthy!

Of course I do resistance training

I wear gloves for lifting, kayaking, biking, and bag work! Initially I worried about injuring my hands as a surgeon, but it hasn't happened.

Jody-Thanks for the review. Love the feedback on the gloves and it's always great to hear other ideas and uses for our gloves. Just like women like to multitask so should our gloves. Love it! Thank you.

I have focused in the past year a lot more weights and resistance training in my workouts and seen a huge difference in my overall fitness levels. I love how strong I feel now, but am not a fan of the how beat up my hands can get from the weights.
I have been meaning to get a good pair of gloves for the gym, but haven't had the time to really look for one.

Great giveaway! I'm hoping the fickle RNG finds my comment--my quest to finally do unassisted pull-ups and chin-ups was successful, hooray! But the bar has left blisters and calluses on my palms. While I appreciate what the blisters represent, a nifty pair of gloves would come in mighty handy. I'd rather my muscles be sore than my hands!

How awesome! I'm all for a new pair of workout gloves.

Strength training is so important to me because I LOVE DOING IT. Sticking with fitness is all about finding what you love, right? Well I love lifting weights.

I've heard good things about Harbinger. My last crappy pair of gloves gave me calluses still.
