Hey, I did the fitbooker challenge so .... give Scott's workout a try or the fitbooker one! You can still enter that one thru September 15th! No, I did not video myself!
What do you think about doing one thing every day that "scares" you? It can be small or big - just challenge yourself in some way...

I have mixed emotions on this. I have long thought that was the way to live. If you weren't pushing yourself into uncomfortable territory, you weren't living. I have slightly changed my opinion on this a little though. I still think that is tremendously important, but there is something to be said for enjoying where you are in life right now too.

Steve, you are right in that you have to live life too.. to each their own in terms of structuring the workouts. I have found though that if I don't push myself at least in a few workouts each week - into that "uncomfortable zone", I am not going to get the results I want but that is just me. I think too many stay in this "comfortable zone" non stop & those are the ones that stagnate at the same weight & can't lose more and/or they start to gain & then ask why - well, it is because you bod needs a bit more pushing in some workouts. Not saying do it every workout but at least a couple depending on how many times you work out per week.

That's one of the tenets of Martha Beck's "The Joy Diet" (do one thing everyday that scares the pants off of you), and I embrace it wholeheartedly. That's different than actually *doing* it everyday, but I do try to work something in frequently.

It is hard to challenge ourselves each and every day. Especially when people (me included) like routines.
I try to push things periodically and go to new places. I am going to do something tomorrow that is very different and I am a little nervous about it.

Lori, I am a creature of routine too BUt I do manage to push myself with something different each workout for sure.. it may not "scare" me but it does push me!

I like the idea of challenging yourself regularly. I do a lot of things at work that challenge me on a daily basis. As for my workouts, I am just trying right now to keep them consistent with what little time I have! I have not really challenged myself physically in over a year, and I miss it. I just don't know if I have the energy with everything else that I have going on!

Just do what you can do Carla! It all works out in the end...

I have the same mixed emotions as Steve. I agree it's important to push beyond the comfort limits sometimes, but others, it's soooo ok to just stay in the comfort zone and enjoy the moment. Have a great day Jody!!!!

I hear ya Roz & as I said to Steve, ya can do both. You don't have to push out of the comfort zone every workout.... but I think it is important to pick says each week to do that depending on how many days you work out...
