Gratitude Monday & Giveaway!

Welcome to Gratitude Monday. Each Monday, stop by & comment on what you are grateful for & how it will impact you to live a healthier life going forward. How it impacts you does not have to be food or exercise related. It can be in any way, shape or form! If you just want to write a grateful comment & nothing else, that is fine too. If your comment is the same as another one, so be it. Everything goes here!
This month is Menopause Awareness Month. YES, I am talking that again!
Today I am thankful for Shmirshky. What you ask is that??? Well, back in April 2010, I read this book, Shmirshky: Think Inside the Box. The post is HERE. I LOVED this book! Not only did it "talk to my issues" BUT I also learned a lot more BUT WITH HUMOR!!! Honestly, the funniest book ever on such a tough subject. Lots of very important info in it too!
I was still in perimenopause at the time & now have "moved on". I know, TMI, BUT we need to talk about this stuff! It happens to us & all the women in our lives!
It is not an easy time for any women so I think this is a great thing for you, your mom, grandma, ALL MEN, friends, family members. It is HARD when others do not understand... HELP THEM UNDERSTAND & HELP YOURSELF UNDERSTAND!
Well, the great Shmirshky people have contacted me again about a promotion going on this Menopause Awareness Month AND A GIVEAWAY. You can win the below:
The newest Shmirshky book, Shmirshky: the pursuit of hormone happiness; a Shmirshky t-shirt and 5 pack of sticky notes (for those who suffer from forgetfulness as a symptom of PM&M!)…
You have 6 chances to get entries to win!!! Leave a separate comment for each thing you do please... THERE WILL BE THREE (3) WINNERS!!!
Why 6 ways - BECAUSE I THINK THIS SUBJECT IS IMPORTANT! It is a HUGE change in most women's lives & all those that live with them or come in contact with them. Yes, some women go thru this fine but most do not. I knew a lady that got fired due to having to take time off & having to deal with the very difficult changes her body was going thru!
How to enter: 1. Comment on your thoughts about the "change in life" OR if you have a family member or friend going thru this.
2. Buy a copy for you, a friend, a MAN or any person in your life of Shmirshky: the pursuit of hormone happiness with a VERY special, limited time only discount. From September 12th – 25th the Shmirshky e-book will be on sale for ONLY $2.99 on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Leave a separate comment that you bought it.
3. Sign up for the Menopause Mondays Newsletter & leave a separate comment that you did so I can pass that on to my contacts.
4. LIKE Shmirshky on FB. Let me know you LIKED their FB page.
5. Share on your FB page or blog & leave a separate comment.
6. Tweet this out & leave a separate comment. I know I usually do not you to tweet if you want to but again, I think an important subject matter.
You have thru Thursday night & I will announce the 3 winners on Friday September 16th. I will use a random # generator to pick the winners OR I may just try to pick 3 myself if there are compelling stories!
Read below for more details on the e-book & Shmirshky. Honestly, a subject that needs to be discussed more! I am telling you from personal experience that it is a TOUGH time for many women! I am one of them - from the changes in the body to the changes mentally and emotionally about how you feel about yourself & your body to just trying to understand how to deal with it!PLEASE READ!

I am so grateful to my new friends I've met online and a part of this Group that really has wonderful ladies (no gossiping, back stabbing) just plain ole support for our weight and fitness. Our trainer who created the site is a wonderful person who reaches out to each of us when we are in need. She's working on a new strength training routine for me. How awesome is that!

That is one weird name for that particular body part! I am grateful, in the wake of yesterday's anniversary, for all the men and women who serve our country and everyone who supports them.

I really just wish it would get here and be done with it. I am in my 50's and I am kind of dreading it, so I hope it won't be as bad as Iam afraid it might be.

Cammy - got to love you. Even with this tuff, you have the most positive attitude! Are you sure you have had any symptoms?/ If you have gone thru what I have, not sure you would be so happy!

Jody good for you for taking on what is often times a taboo subject! I am on the tail end of this journey called menopause and it hasn't been with out it's road blocks, u-turns and speed bumps!
Years ago things got so bad for me that I had to go on anti-depressants for about 6 months to try and even out my huge mood swings and calm the anxiety I was experiencing.
Then of course comes the dilemma of weight gain and the difficulty of getting off the extra pounds.
All of this while having crazy periods that go on for days and days with only a day or two break in between. At times I thought I was a little crazy!
I have not heard of the book you featured but I am going to go check that out!
