Listen up for RESPECT - Click & play while you read!!!

We all know that we need to have RESPECT for ourselves to move forward in this weight loss & maintenance game. You have to know that you are worth it & deserve it! Many stumble at some point & I think that at times, people start to feel that they don't deserve it OR that they are putting themselves before their family, kids & other aspects of their life. Well, don't you have to respect & know that you are worth it to be an example for your kids & family. Kids do see, hear & understand way more than you think they do - even at very early ages - SO PUT YOURSELF FIRST & RESPECT YOURSELF SO THE KIDS LEARN FROM THAT!

I have to say that not having had kids live in my house although I have 3 stepchildren, I have MAJOR RESPECT for mothers & all parents out there. Even more for parents and/or grandparents that are taking care of kids as their job AND IT IS A JOB! It is hard stuff to keep up with them, mentor them, teach by example & more!

After this week with my 7 grandkids & their moms, dads & grandmother (stepdaughter's mom), although I already had major respect for them - it is now beyond respect if you can say that.

IT IS ONE HARD JOB! I am pooped & I was not even there at all times! Anyone that says that staying home to care for the kids is not as hard as going to work - well, I say take 1 week & do it! I think you will come out with a new found EXTRA RESPECT like I did this week. I had tons of fun BUT it is hard work!

RESPECT to all of you out there taking care of kids!!!!

And for you weight loss & maintenance people - RESPECT to you too! YOU DESERVE IT cause it is hard work too!

PLEASE share your thoughts/experiences.

PS: Sheri was also chatting about respecting yourself yesterday. Check it out.

I do not have children either and when I am around my sister in law and how she raises her kids I am in awe of her patients and ability to stay calm all the time.

Thanks for sharing my link from yesterday! Don't know why the comments didn't show up. Maybe the video?

Oprah used to talk about how much she appreciated what a hard job it was to be a parent, despite not having first hand knowledge. Now, if only we got the respect we deserve from our kids

Yes, parenting is a hard job! Sometimes I want to quit! But, that's not an option, so I soldier onward. I have complete respect for anyone who does it well!

Hi Jody, I don't have kids, but as I've got older, my respect and admiration for my parents have grown! They sacrificed alot for my brother and I, and I'm grateful EVERY day. Enjoy the day with the family!

I've come to realize that most of life is, at times, really hard work.

The closest I've ever come to your experience was when I was a camp counselor for a bunch of 5 year olds!

Kids do learn so much from how adults treat each other. There are too many women who talk about and to themselves in a way that they would never think of speaking to another person. And the children hear this.
