No Bitchin' in My Kitchen (Dolly Mamas kit)source

First - that pic cracked me up although there is a lot of bitchin' in my kitchen!

I have posted before about the types of foods I eat and also how simple I make it on myself to cook & bake since I am really really bad at it! So, for this post, I thought I would juts write about some of the foods & things you will find in my kitchen. No pics of my kitchen cause I am not one that cleans up the house too good!

OK, some of the foods & spices you will find in my kitchen - AND don't forget I have always said I am simple & a boring eater!

1. Protein Powder - I have 2 kinds in the house at all times (one is always vanilla cause it goes with everything for me). One is a high quality whey & the other a casein/whey/other mix. The whey is faster acting & gets to the muscles quicker after workouts & the mix is slower & for me, great to have later to absorb & then make me ready for my EARLY morn workout!

2. Chicken breasts - frozen & cooked

3. Turkey slices - low sodium & no nitrates

4. Greek Yogurt - I buy Fage cause Costco sells the large container

5. Homemade protein bars & cookies

6. My fav mustards & Fire Roasted salsa from Trader Joe's

7. Guacamole - my new fav recipe which I now add flax to as well

8. Flax - I use Barleans

9. Crunchy, no salt, Peanut Butter - I add flax to it

10. Smooth, no salt, Peanut Butter - I add flax to it

11. Crunchy, no salt, Raw almond butter

12. Frozen veggies - just veggies, no sauce - save me money & no waste from no using them. I like this mix of broccoli, cauliflower, yellow & orange carrots from Costco. I also like the green beans from Trader Joe's (TJ's).

13. Frozen berries - always blueberries but others in there as I change it up - strawberries, peaches, blackberries, cherries (in there a lot!)

14. TJ's fire roasted salsa and their hot/sweet mustard

15. At least 3 if not 4 types of healthy bread in the fridge & freezer. I like to mix it up!

16. Water & Propel. I do water down the Propel for my workouts - half water/half Propel.

17. I also have some no calorie flavored water for later in the day as a treat instead of plain water.

18. Oh, my Costco animal crackers that are really cookies for a low cal treat.

19. Course I have spices & such in the cupboard like cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, garlic powder & more.

20. I have my NuNatural Stevia, of course! Actually, after I did my giveaway post & it was all said & done, they sent me some of their products! I am going to take a pic of them all & review later BUT I love their products! I may be testing a recipe to post too!

21. Whole dry roasted & unsalted almonds

22. Liquid egg whites

23. Seeing some comments, I realized I forgot my oatmeal, oatbran, mixed hot cereal of oats/rye/"something else in it I can't remember right now that I get at TJ's & eat like a person would eat hot oatmeal.... & sweet potatoes! DOH!

I am sure I have forgotten something but this is a good start!

What is in your kitchen that you can't live without?

I am so glad I am not the only one that buys frozen vegetables! They keep so much longer and their good!

I love mixing flax in with things, never thought about PB. When do you usually eat PB? I usually gain 5 pounds if I eat it regularly...seriously.

Yup Sheri, the frozen do keep longer & I can spice them up to make them taste good & saves money too!

I love my PB but yes, portion control is important! So easy to over do cause it is so good - calorie dense!

Hey, we have a lot of the same weird things in our kitchen!

A few more I've got: big-ass sized pre-washed organic spinach for green smoothies. And goat milk--I love dairy, but recently put two and two together and realized it was causing stomach bloat. Goat seems to be easier to digest, (& I also take an enzyme tablet).

Oh, and canned salmon (TJ's is supposedly bpa free though they don't advertise it). Way convenient source of protein & omega's.

I bloat with dairy too. May have to try the goat milk thing.... what enzyme tab do you take? Take before eating - does it help?

      I should do more spinach!

We have way to much food in our house..mostly healthy but we do have a few treats. My husband and I are ( not bragging) really good cooks, which can actually be a disadvantage for weight maintenance and loss..but life is short

Your kitchen sounds a lot like mine!! I'd add...always a big humungo bag of whole wheat flour, almond meal (for when Max low-carbs), and there's always a couple of squashes hiding somewhere lol!

Love the kitchen list. (and the funny graphic!) I always seem to have hummus in my fridge lately. It makes a good veggie dip, sandwich spread and topping for rice or potatoes. LOVE the idea of mixing flax with guac! Have a great day Jody!!

We have a lot of the same things in our pantry/fridge.

-Always tons of fruit, especially strawberries, pears, and blueberries

    - Oats

    - canned pumpkin (I horde it!)

    - Coconut butter. I just love this stuff.

    - Jams. We actually eat a fair amount of jams. Just a little dollop does a lot for oats, toast, yogurt, etc. I make my own, too.

    - frozen broccoli florets. I never, ever run out!

    - coffee. Nuff said.
