Gratitude Monday; Giveaway Winner
Monday June 13, 2011
Welcome to week 3 of Gratitude Monday. If you missed last week, you can view it HERE. Week 1 is HERE. Each Monday, stop by & comment on what you are grateful for & how it will impact you to live a healthier life going forward. How it impacts you does not have to be food or exercise related. It can be in any way, shape or form! If you just want to write a grateful comment & nothing else, that is fine too. If your comment is the same as another one, so be it. Everything goes here!
Today & each day I am grateful for Sheri who introduced me to my Hoka shoes .. so I am grateful to her AND the shoes!
Sheri is taking a break from blogging right now.
I am about 4 weeks using the shoes right now. Before I got these shoes, honestly, I was really worried about my workouts & if I would be able to do them anymore due to how bad my feet were getting.
I have been having really good in the gym workouts both with cardio & weights. I have been able to run faster again, do my HIIT & intervals on all cardio machines, not just the treadmill!!! I can walk & do my weights afterwards without my feet hurting. Before this, just doing cardio was extremely painful & slowed me down along with having to cut it short. I have increased my cardio workout times again but not back to before because I don't want to overdo the feet. Walking after the cardio was so painful in my old running shoes (which BTW were fairly new). Running outside, I can still feel the feet issues, but I can get about 50-60 minutes in before I really start to feel them but I can make it about 75 to 80 minutes most outside runs.
Yes, I am still icing my feet every day & doing my tennis ball massages BUT I can do my workouts again! We shall see how long but for now, I am grateful for this!!! AND, I know that if I ever get these feet fixed, the Hoka shoes are going to preserve them so I will be wearing them from now on!
Leave your comment on anything you are grateful for no matter how insignificant it seems to you. IT IS SIGNIFICANT!
Me in my Hoka shoes - these are the trail ones because they are wider & I have WIDE feet!

I love it!!!! I am so happy you found relief in your feet! I know what you struggle with mentally and physically with the pain and I just had to share the Hoka's with you!
I am grateful for my Hoka's too! They allow my to run which I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd ever be able to do again.
These shoes have given me a new lease on life as well as Nutrisystems (so I am grateful for them too).

I've had some foot issues over the past few years and at this point I am grateful that I have learned to get it done with them, AND I am grateful that you, Jody, have found a way to do the same!! I guess we have both, up to this point, avoided the agony of de feet

How fortunate that a change in shoes was the key to helping with the pain. As someone over 45 with knee issues it kills me that my body tells me I can't when my heart wants to do more.

You never really know what you have until its gone...body part aching one of them...I had major back issues but know I am all better but it was such a dark time in my life..
Doesn't it make you mad when you see with all their working body parts wasting them?
So I am grateful for all of my bits and pieces working so well together for ME!
So glad you found a solution to your feet issues...
