Gym Sightings; Happy Bday!

Thursday May 26, 2011

First off, another bday in the family.. HAPPY BDAY SCOTT! You are still older than me! That is my hubby's brother.

Bodybuilding love to lift - luv2liftsource

Saw these t-shirts & there are lots more - click on the source button!

Also, more of my feet & workouts. If you missed my posts on these cool new running shoes, they are HERE & HERE. So, I had another great cardio workout yesterday with treadmill, StepMill & Elliptical! I will take these good ones whenever I can get them! I do ice my feet each night & do some tennis ball rolling over the bottom of my feet. A friend learned that in a class & it helps with circulation. Hope my today workout is the same - will let you know tomorrow! I do day 2 of legs today also.

OK, on to "as seen in the gym". I am going to make this a regular feature. It may be like what you see below; it may be me; it may be other people... you will just have to wait & see!

Ah, excuse me big guy that could put all those weight plates on the leg press machine but was just oh too tired & weak f'in lazy to take them off... you jerk! This still ticks me off to no end! When I am there, I say something to the person but I found it this way. Thankfully there was a good front desk person on that was cleaning up the gym & re-racking weights & weight plates.

Did somebody say Saturday Night Fever??? This is in the aerobics room. A disco ball & those lights flash different colors! I am not sure what classes they use this for but I say - how fun!!!

Is this a set up for stability ball dodge ball??? Look at all those "balls" to play with

OK, are you like me & tell anybody that does not re-rack their weights or weight plates to do it? Do you have a disco set up in your gym? What is your fav stability ball exercise? I do a lot of different things BUT I like taking the biggest ball there, , putting my toes on it & doing a decline push-up. Using the biggest ball & putting your toes vs. your shins on it will challenge you more!!!!

Will have a new "as seen in the gym" next week!

The only gym I visit now is a tiny one where I work out with my mom and trainer and it is all training sessions or classes there. But it cracks me up how some people like to put the weights back so that the number shows. Makes sense, I guess.

Re-rack the weights or stay home; ought to be a rule.

I don't care tooooo much about people not racking their weights -- it's rude but there are signs everywhere and if they're ignoring the signs they'll ignore me too. I also work out on base and most of the people who work at the gym as front desk staff make $2-3k a month for about 30 hours/week, plus get free housing, comissary etc sooooo I really don't feel bad haha.

HOWEVER it really ticks me off when, like yesterday, I'm doing 2 sets of an exercise on a machine, IE leg extensions, there's an unused leg extension machine RIGHT next to me, and I get off between sets and someone jumps in and does 3 or 4 sets on the machine I was using. Just seems really really rude to me.

For me, reracking takes away from my own workout & strength & I do a keep on moving workout so this really bugs me. I hear ya though!

I don't mind so much when it's just a few plates, but when moving a large number of plates has to count as my first set, it ticks me off.

For favorite ball exercise, I love the jack knife. I need to add in a push-up to each rep, but...well, I'm weak.

Cammy, I agree.. but with me, I do really lift intense so having to clean up others weights takes away from my own workout - I want to keep moving & do my thing & it is wasting my time to clean up after another person which is the big thing.. wasting time!

I have never told anyone to re-rack their weights, but I love it that you do - that's awesome!
