Fitting Exercise in No Matter What
I was reading my Oxygen magazine this past weekend & came across a great little paragraph I had to share with you. It is funny because as I sat down to write this for this coming week, I was clicking around & saw that MizFit had been writing & doing a video about this as well. So, why not write my post & also link to hers so you have lots of options!!!
First up, what I was reading this weekend. I must also say that I have written posts about this in the past so searching my site might bring up more stuff!
So, back to that little paragraph in Oxygen Women's Fitness. If you have a workplace that will allow you to do this, I think a great way to get some movement in especially during time crunched days:
Do the below every hour for an 8 hour day. Keep a pair of workout shoes at work so there are NO EXCUSES. Maybe you even want to do a few more of each!
YES TO STRONG IS THE NEW SKINNY!!!
1. Five (5) push-ups (From Jody: do wall or desk/counter push-ups if you have to & change the hand placement to work different areas of the chest & yes, the triceps)
2. Ten (10) crunches (From Jody: and yes, you can do standing ones too or a wall plank & see how long you can hold it)
3. Fifteen (15) squats (From Jody: or standing lunges or wall sits - whatever it takes)
What do you think? Something you can fit in? Even if you don't do it every hour, just a few times a day is more than nothing! Watch the videos below too & then let us know - CAN YOU DO IT??? Yes you can!
Here are the links to MizFit's videos & you must watch!!!

Stripping away EXCUSES

(thank you for the love!!)
and you know I 100% agree with this.
we all get the same 24 hours each day---its what we CHOOSE to do with it that makes all the difference.

I need to make myself take breaks from work. I can't move while I am working because my foot is on a pedal and my hands are typing. I so wish I was able to use one of these little bike things while working.

That does make it difficult Lori although you do your share of exercising when not working!

I have never understood why people seem to have PLENTY of time to watch TV and no time at all to exercise.

Good suggestions. I like to fit in exercise during commercials when I'm watching TV. I don't do it every time, but when I do, I add in another 20-30 minutes of exercise. It's really great for stretching and core exercises, or just marching in place and pumping your arms.

Cammy, I am like you, I do mostly stretching & core work though since I have done everything else at the gym..

When I am working I get too involved with what I am programming to do any exercises. My boss would not take to it anyways. However, I could go outside and walk twice a day they instituted that about 2 years ago, I just never do it.

This would be so great for someone with busy days. Very doable, I think. I am fortunate to not work so really do have no excuses!
