Getting Stronger Out of My Comfort Zone

Friday March 25, 2011

Monday is the last day to vote for The New Face of Fila. So, yes, hang in there with me as I post about this again. BUT, I am talking about pushing that comfort zone limit & how IT DOES MAKE US STRONGER!!!

That first cartoon pic above - The greatest enemy to human potential is your comfort zone. That does say something to us, doesn't it? I know I have sat in the comfort zone & yes, I have moved out of the comfort zone & moving out of it always made me a better person for doing that! And you know what, I felt better about myself too! Here is a pic of me when I did bodybuilding.

Now doing that in my late 30's was a big time out of my comfort zone up in front of all those people in that tiny little bathing suit!

Will you
vote for me? You can vote for each entry once!

If you risk nothing, then you risk everything - Geena Davis

What you will do matters. All you need is to do it - Judy Grahn

I wanted to post about this message today: Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone only makes you stronger!

My entry for the Face of Fila contest.

Life begins at the end of our comfort zone - Neale Donald Walsch

You never know who you will influence on any given day - Richard Simmons

I have posted in the past about all my tries to be a magazine reader model & I have not posted about some other things I also entered out of my comfort zone. It is hard but each time I do get stronger by trying!

What can you do today to push yourself out of the comfort zone or are you already doing that? Has not moving out of your comfort zone been an "enemy" to your human potential? Please share!!!!

Oh yes, the comfort zone. Unfortunately it is so easy to get comfortable there. I've been spending a lot of time there lately.

BTW, I always appreciate your encouragement. It is making a difference whether you can see it or not.

Dorothy needed to be carried to Oz to get out of her comfort zone! I don't need to list them, but I've pushed myself out of mine plenty of times. Unfortunately, it's something that never gets easier and always needs doing.

    You got my vote!

I found you on FB! Since you were having trouble finding me.

I find that I really tend to limit myself and think "I can't" altogether too often... "I can't run a half marathon" "I can't be a bodybuilder on a vegetarian diet" etc.

For the rest of this year I want to turn 5 total "I can'ts" into either "I cans" or "I dids" I want to see where my true potential lies!

Jody - you look fantastic (then and now!). I wish I had that discipline and lean-ness. Sigh...

I have been very out of my comfort zone this week. But that has been a good thing.

    (I voted).

Oh, my. I love my comfort zones. I have great anxiety while trying to get out of some of them. But, when I do it, I LOVE how it feels afterward. I'm not sure if the good feeling comes from a sense of accomplishment (I did it! I survived!) or if the good feeling comes from the bad feeling halting (like it feels good when you stop banging your head against a wall - lol).

I mentioned before DH and I joined converted to a church. One of things we liked about this church was that no body was paid, not even the bishop. He had a full time job like everyone else and still put in 30+ hours for his calling as Bishop. Then it became OUR turn to receive callings. We both had teaching positions where we had to stand up in front of so many people and teach! I think it was harder for Danny because English is his second language. But getting out of that comfort zone helped us be stronger people, improve English skills, lesson our fear of public speaking, etc.

Members are often put in callings to help them grow, and it's a safe place to make mistakes.

Great phot of you when you were bodybuilding; smokin hot photo

Thanks for the cancer info link you sent me, very much appreciated!

I'm beginning to think my comfort zone is not a place to hang out in very often. From time to time we need a break and that may be a place to visit, but otherwise spending too much time there may be a waste os valueable time. ANd my mind right now is closed to wasting time.
