“Patience is bitter, but the fruit is sweet.”
― Lida Clarkson

Patience can be hard for many of us & especially in weight loss. As the cartoon says, we live in a world where we want it NOW! We have reality shows galore where people can win & become instantly famous no matter how much or little time they have put into it. And let's face it, people on these reality show become famous for doing nothing as well - making big bucks for acting like idiots.

BUT, back to weight loss & getting healthy - yes, it is HARD WORK and yes, it moves slower than YOU want it to..... BUT if your life is worth having, if your life is worth living, if it means more to you to be healthier, happier & your family healthier and happier...

Than YES IT IS WORTH IT AND THE FRUIT IS SWEET! Make yourself as important if not more important than the "too much food or wrong types of food". Make time in the day for you!

Don't forget that consistency goes along with that patience!

Success is in the sum of small efforts repeated day in & day out – Robert Collier

I've learned to have patience through my weight loss journey. I really want to run "better and farther" NOW, so here I am back telling myself to take my time and have patience again.

Well said! I have to admit I definitely have moments of impatience... but it pays off to keep chugging through for sure. My impatient moments are usually when my body is not responding to what I know it should or when I plateau

I started out as a real Type-A personality...a zealous over-achiever who had zero patience. Then I married my husband, a dyslexic (not funny haha dyslexic but a real one who sees words backwards and cannot spell, etc.). It was a whole new experience for me -- learning to slow down to a crawl for him. He's very bright, and once he's mastered something, he's faster at it than me, but his brain truly functions differently. His handicap has helped me grow.

I have a lot of patience problems. It actually doesn't not appear that way outwardly, but inside I feel it.

I really love your message about being consistent and patient. I have often had trouble with these two things in the past. I feel like I want to be skinny RIGHT NOW! Then of course when I wake up the same weight as the day before, I tend to feel disappointed in myself. Not anymore!!! Being fit is a lifetime journey, not an end point!

Carla, we all know that weight loss & getting fit takes time.. it is our mind that gets in the way! It took time to put it on & it always takes longer to come off... stay consistent & you will do fine!

Patience is certainly not one of my virtues, but God has been working on this with me.
