Be Your Best Self-The Life You Want
"Let there be peace within you. Let yourself feel that you are in a place where you are supposed to be. Don't forget the trusting, endless possibilities you and everyone was born with. May you use the gifts that you have been given and share the love that's been given to you. May you be happy with all that you are. Let this knowledge sink deep into your body and soul and let it sing, dance, encourage and love freely. There is enough for each and everyone."
A friend sent this to me & thought I would share with you. I am also reading "The Life You Want" by Bob Greene, Oprah's guy. I was contacted by the publisher to review the book. So far I am liking it. I think it has much to offer many of you searching for those reasons behind what stops you from succeeding at weight loss.
I am one of the rare ones that did not have to resolve my issues to lose weight & keep it off. I guess I was more tired of feeling fat & being teased than anything else. Also, I did not have some of the more "heavy reasons" for weight gain discussed in the book BUT many points in this book hit home. I know lots of you had/have many more obstacles to overcome than I did in terms of amount of weight & personal issues. The key, though, is we all have it within us to do this but we have to find the right "recipe for success" that works for us & battle the mental obstacles. It is going to involve food changes & movement though!
I hope to be reviewing the book next week with a GIVEAWAY to one lucky reader!!! In fact, although I started to mark my copy up & fold down corners of pages, I think I will offer it up too for a second reader if they don't mind a used edition!
TRY TO BE YOUR BEST SELF & per a quote from Lance's Sunday Thought of the Day:
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” ~ Steve Jobs
Are you living your best self? Are you like me & a work in progress always... which in my mind is a good thing...

Love both of the quotes Jody!

Definitely a work in progress. You only stop learning when you're dead -- despite my reflection in the mirror sometimes, I'm not there yet...hahaha.
Love the Steve Jobs quote.

We are all works in progress! Just for some the progress is very slow, and for others it's in the wrong direction
Bob didn't help Oprah much.

Dr. J - always with the good comeback!
Nope, we have to help ourselves but at least Oprah is admitting her own faults about this now.... even Bob mentioned on a show that we all have excuses of one form or another... I guess that is what leads to the progress being decent, very slow or non existent...

I think we are all constantly evolving works-in-progress! If your work is done and everything is accomplished, what challenges and triumphs are there to look forward to?
