Computer Exercising!
Hi all. STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING! Are you sitting up straight with correct posture? Feet flat on the floor? Yes? Do you have your water bottle nearby too? Get it!
If you can do this at work, more power to you but probably best for home computer geeks! I wrote another post way back when on work exercises & will seek it out but for now, check out this GirlGetStrong (GGS) post.
OK - ONWARD! AND AS ALWAYS - PROPER FORM!!!
1. Stand up & march in place for 3-5 minutes the get yourself all warmed up. No slacking.. MARCH! OK, sit down again.
2. RIGHT NOW -STAND UP!!!! Oh, squeeze your butt as you stand.
3. OK, now sit down BUT SQUAT TO THE SEAT... BARELY TOUCH IT & STAND UP AGAIN & SQUEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZEEEEEEEEE AS YOU STAND!
4. Squat down & barely touch & stand up again & squeeze!!!!!!!!!!
DO THAT AS MANY TIMES AS YOU CAN FOR 1-2 MINUTES.
5. Do you have a solid NON-MOVING desk or piece of furniture? Get moving & do some push-ups against it. If not, the wall push-up OR floor push-ups. As many as possible in a minute or whatever you can do.
6. Solid desk or wall - glute kick backs. Like cable ones but just with you & slow, controlled & SQUEEZE! Do as many as you can on each leg for 30 seconds, switch leg & do 2 sets. Then do side leg lifts - same directions. You can do floor kneeling glute kickbacks or floor side lying side leg lifts if you want....
7. Have a laundry detergent or water bottle or anything like that for some resistance & do as many triceps extensions (single or both arms like the pic below) as you can in a minute OR if you have a solid piece of furniture, tricep dips if you have no shoulder issues.
8. Back to seat squats - do them for as many as possible in 1-2 minutes & squeeze!!!!
STRETCH & drink some water!!!!!
There - wasn't that a great 10-15 minute exercise break!!!! Try to do this again later in the day. So many ways to vary this! Maybe I will make this a regular post every week or so!
Let me know how it went!
Tough or Tuff Love Jody at your service!!!!
And as in the pic above, if you keep some workout tools handy & in your sight, maybe you will actually break & use them!
Giveaway tomorrow!!!!!

LOL! I can just see me doing that at my desk surrounded by my programmer friends. They think I am already crazy.
All kidding aside thought I try to stretch a few times a day and I always go to get my coffee and water the farthest away from me.

You could just sit & squeeze or even do some triceps work... I know... but maybe it will catch on!

HAHAHA Fantastic!!!! Fortunately I work in a lab and walk around all day, BUT I might try random squats in the lab one day. Or lunge from place to place.
I wonder what kind of a response I can get out of my coworkers for it

I think the guy in the cubical next to me just saw me squeezing my butt, and he is smiling; this is awkward.

I've come to believe that sitting for longer stretches of time is evil but still do it. Time to move my butt.

You keep pretty active in general but yes, the computer sitting can be UGH!

Excellent! I think businesses should hire you to make rounds to their offices and cubicles each day.

At my former office, we used to do tri-dips in our office chairs and wall pushups and lunges down the hall. Loads of fun! I'm generally too worn out from the gym to do much office exercising.
