Gym Etiquette & More!

WTF on #6 above???

Hey all, I am doing a guest post on gym etiquette over at Bobbie's place, AFG. You can read it by clicking THIS LINK! Feel free to let loose here too! In addition, I did a post a while back on germs in the gym - the second half of THIS POST HERE.

I also want to leave you with a great thought/quote by former President Bill Clinton. He said that his mom always told him this:

If somebody knocks you down, GET UP, DON'T GIVE UP!!!!! I mean it! I was listening to Richard Simmons yesterday on Ellen & he was saying what I have put into my 2011 tough love posts. It takes hard work. It goes on way easier than it comes off. It is going to take some sacrifice no matter what word you use to describe sacrifice! He said a lot more but it comes down to HARD WORK. You can find fun things to do for your exercise but it is still hard work to change your habits as a long term lifestyle change & KEEP IT OFF! JUST DON'T GIVE UP!

Also found this quote to add on to my yesterday stats:

Americans are overfed but undernourished.

Hit me up with comments on gym etiquette & the comments above and don't forget to visit
Bobbie!

Thanks for the post Jody! And yes, hard work is well HARD, that is true. And losing weight has always been hard for me, but the payoff is enormous! Have a great day!

Bobbie's post was great. I gave her a good comment there which i'd hate to duplicate here; was too long.

Tough Love has its place in our missions to get healthy. To believe it will be all smiles & sunshine start to finish is to be in as much denail about what you want as you were about how unhealthy you are/were. Bring It!

Hey Jody, Hope your day at UCLA is okay. You are never going to believe this...yesterday I was looking for posts about gym germs and such because I am putting together a post about why people should bring a towel to the gym (I am sure you know why I am doing that), anyhooooooo, I came across AFG's post and I started reading and when I saw your name as a guest post I just laughed because it is such a small world and I thought, "Jody does get around" (in a good way). So, I loved what you had to say...then I saw your post for today. All great and helpful information about gym etiquette. I also loved your last quote about Americans being overfed but undernourished. I think the undernourished could be seen both in light of nutrients/healthy meals as well as being undernourished in their souls/lives. Anyway, thanks, as always, for all you do.

I'm sorry, but I reserve the right to stare if someone is dressed as a giant condom.

Awesome guest post!! I was getting angry just reading those because they annoy me too! There's a man that comes, put's his towel on the squat rack and proceeds to stretch in there. Then he leaves but leaves his towel there, signifying he's using it. Comes back later, put's some weights on, leaves and uses another machine, and never comes back! All the while I'm waiting to use the squat rack. I get so mad! And I hate when people don't put away their weights either because I never know if they are done or not!

Ah yes, so true about being overfed and undernourished! And I'm glad I stopped by to see the "Don't give up" note. Needed that.
