Holiday Help; Happy Bday to My Hubby!

Thursday December 23, 2010

Big day today!!! It is my hubby's birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is a hot 58 today & looking younger than me.. dang these women hormones!!!  This is an older pic of him BUT he still looks great & way young for his age!

We celebrated with his family last weekend & will see more family this coming weekend. I will try to take some new pics for you! Not good like some of you with the pictures!

I have been married to my hubby for  27 years & we were together for 2 years prior to that so a long time & longer than some of you are old!!! I am one lucky lady that he puts up with me!!!!

Other than that, I want to just pass on some helpful words as you move into the holiday & parties & family things & New Years & more....

1.
Like many have written... slow down & take some deep breaths. It helps!

2. Try to get some sort of workout in no matter what, even if you have to shorten it up OR walk before or after the "event. You will feel better physically & mentally.

3. Be mindful when eating so you don't end up overdoing - unless that is your plan.. Nothing like eating too much & feeling like crap afterwards. You can enjoy without that feeling if you PLAN.

4. Keep water or a low cal drink in your hands at parties to keep you from grabbing mindlessly.

5. Don't go to a party or get together starving! You will eat everything in site & probably more than you would otherwise.

6. Wear some tighter pants, if you are wearing pants. The feeling of them getting too tight may help you not to eat way too much.

7. Don't give up till after the holiday & New Years.... Just get back to it right after the party or get together. It will make a difference AND you will be less likely to head into 2011 with pounds you don't want on you & you also will head into 2011 with a better mental attitude!

8. Did I say PLAN AHEAD?? Don't I always! Me, I eat healthy for all the meals & plan for a treat .... or 2 or 3. If you are the meal person & not a treat person, try eating your other meals totally healthy (& maybe smaller than normal) & then enjoy that one main meal.

9. OWN WHAT YOU DO AND MOVE ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10. Have a wonderful holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So many more things I could say but feel free to add on.... I need to get up & stretch my back. I am much better than last week but still not near that 100%. Update coming Monday
