Travel/Carry Baggage

Do you tend to carry around a "bag of stuff" when you go out & about? I have this small bag that I carry magazines, hand lotion, food on the go & other "crap" to take in & out of stores with me just in case. Then I saw these cute sling backpacks on the CSN Stores website. Remember when I reviewed the travel coffee mug, microwave popcorn popper (which my hubby LOVES!), cool tool & whisk? A few of the styles are shown above... read the reviews as each person has a different take & it depends on what you want to use them for.. day stuff, travel, gym or whatever!
It is travel time so maybe one of these cute sling backpacks is the way to go. I read some of the reviews & people liked certain bags to travel with & for their site seeing! Looks like they will fit under the airplane seat too!
Something to think about... protecting your back & posture. We tend to overload & always carry something on one side of the bod (usually our dominant side). Be aware of keeping the posture tight & switching sides you carry stuff on to balance things out. If you wear one of those back packs, heck, use it as a crunch machine (standing crunches) while you are out & or waiting in an airport. Depending on what is in it, you can do bicep curls, triceps kickbacks or overhead extensions, hold it in front of you & do squats/lunges or hold it over your head & do squats/lunges, do shoulder presses with it - the variations are endless! USE PROPER FORM THOUGH!
Even if you don't have a sling backpack or backpack, plenty of ways to fit in body weight exercises or use things readily available around you. You can do butt squeezes anywhere!
Me, as I have mentioned in the past, I applied to What Not to Wear so many times! I am so fashion clueless & tend to head out looking like a candidate for that show.. plus I wear the same clothes over & over! I often think that they are going to snag me for my beat up "carry around bag" more than my clothes!
So, what kind of bag/bags will you be using during travel season. OR, do you have your own cute little carry around bag that you want to share with us? Do you "exercise" while waiting places or in the airport? Pass on any helpful tips. I/we need them!

OK
To be honest I didnt really workout in the airport till we had our daughter.
now I do.
far far far less for me and 100% to git that girl's boundless energy OUT before we board the plane.
and it works

Calf raises! Raise-and-hold, pulse, slow release--I've done a million of them.
I have sling bags and backpacks galore, but I don't exercise with them. Too heavy.

I have carried a backpack style purse for years now. Not a huge one, since I don't lug a lot around. But I found it is way easier on my shoulder. I heard once that most women are lopsided from years of carrying a purse on one shoulder!

I like an over the body strap on my travel bags...it helps keep my stuff secure and gives me an extra arm to carry something else. Like coffee.

I've heard of people doing weighted push ups with a backpack filled with weights in it or walking up stairs that way.. I've so gotta try it!

I usually go for walks in the airport instead of sitting. But now that you have given me all these great work out ideas I now know that I can also work some other muscles anywhere!
I need a cross body bag to take to Spain next year when we go visit our daughter. I haven't shopped for one yet. Petty theft is terrible there and she said you have to keep you bag in front of your body at all times!
Thanks for all the great ideas Jody!

I have two bags that are with me much of the time. When I travel I always have my laptop roller bag (no stress on the back!). In my day-to-day travel around home I almost always have my camera bag.

I like to travel as light as possible! And I like to have wheels for those long airport treks in a hurry.
Safe travels!
