In Memory

"I believe that this way of living, this focus on the present, the daily, the tangible, this intense concentration not on the news headlines but on the flowers growing in your own garden, the children growing in your own home, this way of living has the potential to open up the heavens, to yield a glittering handful of diamonds where a second ago there was coal. This way of living and noticing and building and crafting can crack through the movie sets and soundtracks that keep us waiting for our own life stories to begin, and set us free to observe the lives we have been creating all along without even realizing it"

Another great post from Lance over at The Jungle of Life. Life is short so do your best to live it!
My mom passed away on this date 4 years ago. It was right after my birthday & right before Thanksgiving. She was bedridden & very ill but thru all that, she asked the caregiver we had hired to help us to make me a birthday cake. Even in her worst times, she thought of me.
I know times are tough but if any of you have an extra $ or two & want to support an important cause like fighting Sarcomas, cancers that have no cure right now, please check out my sidebar for more info.
Also, I love the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative (sarcomahelp.org) if you want to contribute there.
AND, if you don't know about ACOR, Association of Cancer Online Services (acor.org) yet, check them out. They have group lists for just about every cancer out there. You can join a list & get support & help from people & families that have been there! The liposarcoma list was a huge help when my mom was ill. They need your help!

Mom's are the best. This must be a hard time for you. I think the toughest part of getting older isn't losing your fresh youthful looks or your non saggy skin but losing your loved ones. Just know that your mom isn't sick anymore and still watching over you.

Nothing is quite like the unconditional love that a mother has for her child. I wish that for those of us who have lost our mothers that we will "grieve not, but rather find strength in what remains behind." As you have done so well, Jody!

Jody, just one short year ago I wouldn't have had much emotion at all when reading this post, but my own life events of the last year has totally changed my perspective. I hope you had a good day.

It is especially difficult to lose close ones just before holidays.
