Travel Coffee Mug/Popcorn Popper & Recipes/ Gadget Reviews!
Saw these very funny mugs at Peets Coffee and Tea & had to share!! Perfect for my post reviewing the travel coffee mug along with the other goodies! Also, QUESTION FROM A READER: Anyone know of a work out DVD that would be good for a newbie working with hand weights? I am determined to get those sculpted upper arms and get rid of these bat wings once and for all. Just need to know I am doing it right and a personal trainer is not in my budget nor is joining a gym. Gotta make do with my garage work outs!
From Jody: I don't do DVD's so asking all of you!
ALSO: Check out my contribution to a post from Jack Sh*t on Wish I Knew Then What I Know Now. Lots of great contributors!
So, a while back I mentioned that CSN Stores contacted me & allowed me to review some products - I was able to choose the ones I wanted to review. I wrote about it in this post.
I like to give myself adequate time to use something before I come back & review it. So, I am back!!!
1. Brugo Travel Coffee Mug: I really wanted to try this as it said the patented, thermodynamic science of Brugo gives you the power to immediately enjoy the most vibrant flavor at the perfect drinking temperature and because you only cool each sip, the remaining coffee stays hotter and more aromatic. Plus, Brugo's elegant design and sleek chrome accents will emphasize your sophisticated taste. And 3-Position drink mode selector (Lock, sip, tip n cool).
What I thought: Honestly, I don't like this travel mug at all! I even checked online reviews & people raved about it. Not me.
First, the directions say that you have to tip the mug & them swish it back & forth to get the above results for sipping. The steeper you tip it & the longer you swish it from side to side, the larger the sip.... and I found I had to keep doing this all the way thru. NOT GONNA HAPPEN WHILE I AM IN A CAR or anywhere else. I don't want to have to keep tipping & swishing.
Second, the top is NOT leak proof! So they want you to tip & swish but the top leaks when I tip it ... just craziness!!!!
Third, even with deep tipping, I still did not get a sip as big as I like but I did get coffee on the floor due to the tipping & that it is not leak proof even in the lock mode.....
Fourth, I did not like the way the coffee tasted out of this mug... I ended up using just the sip mode but the flavor of the coffee was not great vs. my old travel mug.
Overall: This is a no buy for me.... check out some of the others on their site. If you have any recommendations for a good travel coffee mug, let me know...
2. Nordic Microwave Popcorn Popper: For the price, this is a BUY for me. We used it with both oil & not oil.. OK hubby did, and he really liked it! He said it popped well, popped most of the kernels & was a YES for him! Start out with the minimum amount of time suggested to pop & go from there. I also read on line that it gets very hot so be sure to use a pot holder or something when taking it out of the microwave.
HERE is a link with ways to make healthy popcorn with flavor!!! I am sure you can Google many more links OR PASS ON YOUR FAV RECIPE IN THE COMMENTS!!!
3. Le Creuset 8" Cool Tool: NO, this is not a sex toy!!! Well, I guess that is really up to you!
My take... LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It does all of the above. There are different sizes & shapes. Check it out HERE.
4. Le Creuset 10" Balloon Whisk: Well, the multi colored one I got is not available anymore but you can see the others HERE. I had an older whisk so this new one is great. Whips things up nicely & cleans well too! I do love my multi colored one but many of you may prefer solid colors so check it out.
Thx to CSN Stores for allowing me this opportunity!
So, see anything you are interested in trying???? Let me know about travel mugs too!

Hmm, the Le Creuset 8" Cool Tool does have some appeal. No not SEX appeal. Not big on kiwi green though.
I am assembling my holiday wish list for my wife, she always wants to know what I want in September. So I am thinking about this, any chance you can put it through the paces? http://www.csnstores.com/Campbell-Hausfeld-WS280000AV-CHP1722.html
Have Fun!

Thanks for the link to the le creuset items. Next to the one that you liked is a cool tool handle sleeve which caught my eye. Looks like it might be perfect for the handle on my large cast iron fry pan. I currently use the handle mitt from Lodge, but cast iron can get pretty hot and if the Lodge mitt ever slipped I would burn my hand. Seems there would be less opportunity for slippage with the silicone le creuset.

I'm not a coffee drinker so don't have a travel mug. That cool tool does look pretty... well... cool. Saw Jack's post - loved it!

I like coffee. Usually a little in the morning, and a sip or two during the day. Never over one cup a day, if that.
Air popped popcorn for me. I destroyed a microwave a few years ago by using a brown paper bag for a few seconds too long. At least yelling FIRE in the house didn't panic anyone besides me

My mom had a few grease fires also! Even needed the fire dept. to help one time. I never cook with grease!

I'm not a coffee drinker, and I use an air-pop machine. Too bad they don't make that silicon mat in clothing items.

I am a sucker for gadgets, and I can see myself having tried this mug, but not after this review. The popcorn popper sounds nice though.
