Change & Single Moments in Time!

| “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” |
| ― Anne Frank |
Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts. — Arnold Bennett
I always want to remind people that This is not a race to the finish… Understand it takes time, learn along the way and DON’T GIVE UP! That was a line from my guest post over at AFG if you missed it last week. I also wrote about patience last Thursday.
I know, lots of links to other posts but I am guessing most of you read them already. I always have to link just in case some people missed it OR I get a new reader! ![]()
So, even though I am saying this is not a race, that does not mean wait until tomorrow! Start TODAY! There are lots of baby steps you can take TODAY! Maybe take a walk instead of watching TV. Skip the small order of fries today. Drink some water instead of soda. Have a piece of fruit instead of that "other treat". Do some high marching or weights or core or a bit of all while watching your fav TV show.
It is all about making small changes along the way which lead to bigger changes in not only our weight but ourselves! We start to feel better so we keep making more changes & before we know it, voila, we love our new lifestyle!!! YES, we are going after that lifestyle change!!! Long term results!
Now for that second quote... Come on! We all know this stuff is HARD!!! The concept of eating less and/or better & healthier foods PLUS just moving more is an easy concept BUT the doing is harder. If it were easy, we all would not be blogging about our weight probs!
There will be "discomfort" along the way... not only with the exercise depending on what you do but the withdrawal from those unhealthy foods you were eating previously. It may be like a withdrawal from coffee or cigarettes...... BUT, if you go at it in a steady & consistent manner, don't give up, don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today, no matter how small it is..... you will be better off long term!
OK, who is going to NOT WAIT A SINGLE MOMENT BEFORE STARTING TO IMPROVE THEMSELVES & THEIR WORLD???
PS: Don't forget about part 1 of my guest post over at Sensei Talks. It went up a bit later in the morn if you missed it yesterday. Part 2 will air Monday!! Show them some love!!! ME too! ![]()

Jody,Thanks a bunch for teh great supportive words onmy blog the past few days. I like 'don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today'... makes so much sense maybe that is why many don't abide by it. That and we tend to feel we have lots and lots of tomorrows to go, so whats another day? If we only knew howmany tomorrows wereally do have.

Change is hard. There are books written about it; seminars taught on the subject. So no surprise that many of us find it hard to implement changes in our personal lives as well. I like the idea of making little ones. Starting there. Sometimes I handle change well; sometimes not so well.

Small steps help people learn plus they are not overwhelmed & don't give up due to doing too much too soon for sure!

Very nice post, Jody!! There is a reggae song that I like, "Many Rivers to Cross," by Jimmy Cliff. It's a little sad. I once heard a version by another singer who sang it with a positive point of view. I liked that version even more. Change can be like that.

Jody I agree with you. I love that quote and feel that it is so important to never be 100% satisfied and be willing to make positive changes in our lives.
