7 Things About Me

So, Karen at Waisting Time bestowed this award on me. Thx Karen! So for the rules:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award..... DONE above! ![]()
2. Share seven things about yourself.... doing that below. I am pretty boring so I will try...
3. Nominate 15 newly discovered blogs.... those that know me know that I just can't single out blogs cause I love them all so this is to anyone that wants to share!
4. Let your nominees know about the award... well, that is all of you! ![]()
SO FOR 7 THINGS ABOUT ME:
1. I LOVE MY TREAT COOKIE/COOKIES EVERY WEEKEND!!!! Yes, those that have been reading me for a while already know this!!!! I love a great Oatmeal Raisin, Snickerdoodle or molasses ginger cookie!. A new fav for me is a vegan ginger cookie from Peet's Coffee & Tea House. They are lower in fat & about 230 calories. For me, I could have 2 of those for one of my regular treat cookies! ![]()
2. We had MULTIPLES of animals when I was young. I lived back east where we actually had yards & land so we had dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, ducks & everything under the sun! Every time we came home with another animal, my Dad had a fit & then he always ended up loving that animal as much or more than us!
3. Keeping on animals, my mom was a bird savior. For those that grew up where bird nests were in the trees & you could see them, every so often, baby birds would be abandoned or fall out of the nest. My mom nursed many a wild bird back to health & set them free.
4. I actually did have to walk up a very large hill in the winter, in the snow, to get to school at one point in my life!
OK, who remembers those lines from their parents or grandparents. Well, I did it!
5. I once went to Barbados for 3 weeks for work! Bad thing, there was a strike going on, the locals did not like us & there was threat of violence so we were told to stay home for a few days rather than go into work.. Darn!
Truthfully though, the poverty & the extremes from rich to poor.. horrible, at least back then in the early 1980's.
6. I want a "compound" in Hawaii, the Big Island, along the Kohola Coast, near the pasture land, yet with a view of the beautiful Hawaiian ocean & also one over here somewhere so that I can jet back & forth & have enough room for the whole family in both places! I know, a dream but I can wish! ![]()
7. People think I am very outgoing but I am actually pretty shy. This is interesting because when shy comes out, people think I am stuck up!
Have a great day!

That walk to school; was it up hill both ways...?
Jody, it's nice to get to know you even more. I applaud you. You are in inspiration, and the blogging world, as well the rest of the world is lucky to have you!!!

Fun facts! I am quite shy too and found out from a high school friend that she thought I was snobby before she got to know me. Yikes!
