Calling all Glutes - That is Your Booty/Butt/Buns!

Come on, who doesn't like a toned & firm butt on ourselves or somebody else!
Anyway, I have written so many posts on the butt & butt exercises. You can search my site for more. In fact, I will put a few links at the end of this post. First though, I want to share a couple bootilicious links with you. They are quick & easy to watch so please do OR save the link for later. You & your butt will thank you!!!!
1. How to Build a Better Butt from WebMD: There are some great exercises.. old favorites too! They even discuss if you are an EASY builder & how to manage that. Me, the slide on padded things (you will see), not so much for me unless I am riding a bike!
2. Oxygen Women's Fitness magazine - Special Glutes Issue - is now on the newstands. I have it & there are some great old & NEW exercises in there. Also, some great tips on using your cardio machine to work those glutes too! Check it out!
3. Pretzels: I saw this video over at Fit Chick in the City. I have posted about it before but my older Shape video no longer comes up when I click the the link in my older post. Amazing how the old time stuff really works! Ya don't need fancy machines. Home workout people, this is for you! Heck, it is for me & I am a gym person! I love mixing it up!
4. Jody links: More New Exercises; Glute Training Outdoors; Home exercises; Exercises You Can Do Anywhere. There are more but just had to stop. I do a lot with weights in the gym too. Squats, leg presses & more but I always make sure I am SQUEEZING, no matter what!
5. Super Butt Workout - a video - and can be done at home!
Honestly, I could go on & on "butt",
YOU ARE NOT GOING TO SEE THE HARD WORK IF YOU DON'T EAT RIGHT TOO!!!!!
Any special moves or ones that just really work for you that you want to share with us all?
Again, I have to remind you all of my 2010 Team Sarcoma Initiative post. The full week is: July 17-25, 2010. The Facebook event can be joined HERE! Thank you!
I will mention this every day thru the Sarcoma Initiative week so please hang with me. It is just my way of helping fight the cause. Ya never know who may read it & want to help or pass my link on to another person who can help OR who is in need of support due to this cancer.

Once upon a time I did not like having a bubble butt. Over the years, I have grown to appreciate some junk in my trunk

Karen.. it is so hard! That is why I made that comment about those padded "tights". I just can't say what I will do at 60 or 70!!!

Thank you for the shout out! These moves all look great! I love how much you emphasize how important it is to pay attention to what you eat, not just do the exercises.

THX!!!!!!!!!!! If you don't eat right, nothing is going to show the way you want.. like that old age question about abs.... STILL! I always say, you can do every ab/core exercise in the world but if the food isn't clean, you are not going to see them!

I like to do single leg moves for a better butt...single leg deadlifts or single leg bridges. A good way to build a little booty muscle!

I would like to add the un-sung glute exercise of all time Jody, if I may: Low Back Extensions. Done properly, LBEs are the best glute tightener I know of. Though this exercise is more primary to strengthening the low-back and stretching the hamstrings, when the body is at the top position in LBEs, the glutes are flexed tightly and firmly.
There is no doubt that this flexion contributes greatly to both glute shape, and glute and hardness.
Hope you don't mind me jumping in with a video Jody....

Roy, I absolutely do not mind! I wish I could put every exercise in a post! Like you mentioned, "squeezing" is a big part on my lower back extensions!
Thx Roy!!!

I myself, no, I do not have a special butt routine. Well, hill walking, that what I do. The only reason I walk that hill is to get my butt toned & firm, there, now the cat is out of the bag.

Hill walking & jogging are one of the great things you can do to tighten & tone & lift the butt! I knew that was the only reason your were doing that hill Patrick!

I plan on working the heck out of my butt if I can find it! I'm a runner, and somewhere along the highway, my butt went byeway.

Boy, do I need this Jody! Why is it that as we age, womens' butts seem to get bigger and mens' booties seem to dissolve into this air?

Karen, so true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And no matter how hard we work, they still want to flow with gravity!

Oh my gosh Jody- I was taking progress pictures the other day and took one of my butt (not naked of course, LOL) But anyway, I compared it to a picture I found of myself a year ago.. holy cow my butt is so much better! I didn't have any shape to my butt last year and now love mine thanks to all those squats, lunges, deadlifts, etc!
