Exercises & Form Help

OK, I have not done an actual exercise post in a bit.. meaning showing some actual exercises so today is the day! I want to share with you a few video posts that I know you are going to LOVE!!!!! Yes, it takes time to look at them but you can always bookmark & come back. Form is so important when exercising so these particular videos show some awesome form!!!
1. The ab wheel: Back when, I did a post on a bunch of stuff including the ab wheel. Just recently, I read a new blog site for me & saw these 2 videos on a 71 year old man doing both the ab wheel & using it from a standing position!!!!
YOU HAVE TO WATCH THESE! Check out the the regular ab wheel movement here and the standing one here. I first saw these on this site. Great form & work that core!!!!!!!
2. Butt and Core with Stability Ball : I am sure many of you do both these moves BUT I love how you can see the correct form in case any of you have never been shown personally. Great video from ACE, American Council on Exercise. I usually do the v-up ball move vs. the roll in shown here & I switch to just using the ball with my hands on the floor & also with my hands on the dome side of the BOSU. IT is really challenging to put your hands on the flat side & so this! Anyway, try this version & REALLY CONCENTRATE ON THE ROLL IN/TUCK IN A CONTROLLED MANNER & THEN OUT IN A CONTROLLED MANNER TO THAT PLANK POSITION. I LOVED THIS!!!!!
3. Barbell Forward Lunge: Another great post from ACE. Check out the form & you can use dumbbells or any other form of weight you have at home if you are doing them there. Do them on a stable surface & wear your workout shoes.
4. Funk Plyometric Push-ups: Now this is hard but it looked to cool not to show you, is a great challenge for push-up fans & yes, I did try it.. HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep the form. Works the core too! I first saw these at Aprils place. Just so you know, sometimes I leave out the apostrophe (April's) because stupid GoDaddy will not take the link with commas & such. Drives me crazy along with many other things about GoDaddy!
5. Home moves from The Today Show: I just added this because I saw it yesterday. The first move is very cool BUT be sure & be warmed up as always before doing it & you may want to use a shorter chair based on your range of motion. Keep that form tight & work the core at the same time! The other two moves you have seen before on my blog & elsewhere but always good to show again!
Hope this added something to your normal workout and/or home workout! Anyone want to add anything else to challenge us!!!
Steve from Log Your Loss, how about those push-ups!!!

These are great! Thanks for sharing them!

I haven't done ab wheel rollouts in forever! My new gym doesn't have one but I'm sure I could use a barbell or foam roller in place of the ab wheel.
Great list!

Joanna, yes, as I just commented.. anything that mimics the move is great & changing it up is good too!

I'm always looking for new things to do. I've never tried the ab wheel, but in a group fitness class we once did similar moves using furniture moving discs under our feet or hands-they were pretty tough too!

KAren, yes you can use a barbell, foam roller , smaller stability ball.. anything that mimics it! The slider way is hard!

I need to try the forward lunges with the bar. I do those with dumbbells, so something different!

As we know Lori, changing it up is good!

I used to have an ab wheel but I stopped using it. I should dig it up and try these!

I think I may have to buy me one!

My trainer has me do the forward lunge with dumb bells. He changes things up regularly so I am sure one day I will be using the barbell. LOL. He really likes to incorporate exercises that use my body weight and the stabililty ball instead of the machines. Perfectly fine with me!

Karyn, I do a lot of different types of lunges & also change up the barbell, dumbbell & sometimes use weight plates too!

I guess I should do my stretching later in the day then rather than when I first get up. I was trying to anchor them to something so I remember to do them. That's why I thought I'd do them before breakfast. I'll try to do them before I get on the computer in the evening instead. Thanks!

I've never used the ab wheel. Maybe when I'm older like that Australian guy. I did think he and his wife were interesting
