Let's Move

Tony over at Anti-Jared had a post about doing a 5k for Kids. THIS SUNDAY! He is teaming up with Roni from Fitbloggin. What a great cause. With childhood obesity at its highest & on the rise, we can all try to help be better examples for all kids out there!

Here is what he had to say:

Whenever I go on Facebook or Twitter in the morning, I always see Roni.

Roni is
one of my blogging heroes. Not only has she lost over 70 pounds, but what she has done for the blogging community is amazing. She has a blog dedicated to help other bloggers.

She created Fitbloggin. She does recipes and always takes pride in spending time with her son.

She also always runs. 2 miles, 4 miles, 8 miles!!!! I love looking at her running charts. It makes me a little jealous.

When someone else does something that I am not good at, it impresses me even more.

I am not a runner, but when I look how at how much passion she puts into it, I get tempted to do the C25K training.

I do remember starting out in weight loss. I remember hoping on that treadmill and being so proud that I walked a half a mile, then a mile.

There is something so empowering about walking.

When I was so overweight, that privilege was stripped from me. I remember going to Disneyworld with my wife and having to sit down every two minutes because of my back.

I remember not being able to walk my dog because my back hurt so much.

That is why I want to do something.

On Sunday May 23th, I want everyone to participate in the first virtual "RoniTony 5K for Kids". THIS SUNDAY!

It is easy to participate, just commit to walking a 5K wherever you are. Whether it is at work, on a treadmill, in place, etc.

It can be hard to sign up for a 5K, but this one is very easy.

I (Tony at The Anti-Jared) will put up a Paypal account on my blog to accept donations for Action for Healthy Kids

It can be hard to sign up for a 5K, but this one is very easy.

.

There is no fee to sign up for this 5K, but it would be great if you made a donation to a worthy cause that day.

I am letting people know about this early. I am sure I will have contests for it. I think it is a fun idea.

I am honored to walk a 5K with all of my weight loss healthy friends.

Can you commit to walking a 5K that day?

THIS SUNDAY!

From Jody: I know I will be doing my 5K and more. It is my normal outside run day but I would have done something anyway! Can you commit to being an example for all kids that day? It is good for you too! Thx Tony & Roni!
