New Exercise Moves; GIVEAWAY!

OK, a tease! Not a real exercise & was posing & pretending to hold up "Balanced Rock" in Garden of the Gods!
OK, just so it is not all a tease, here is an exercise I do that you may not do yet. If you work out at the gym, grab the bar below. It is a straight lat pulldown bar. Attach it to a low cable pulley machine to do bicep curls. I like to hold it with palms in, thumbs up, to mimic a hammer curl but I also change up the grip. I really feel this & my biceps love it! You can also do them with a rope like this video. In addition, if you want to see a great video on how to execute an exercise correctly, check out this post from Roy at Roy Cohen's Contemplative Fitness. Yes, we have those forced reps & cheating principles that people that want to pack on lots of muscle use but those are not an every day thing. And it is fun to switch up the repetition speed depending on your goals. For the most part, work the form like Roy's post. People always think I lift heavier than I do because I use proper form instead of throwing the weight around!
OK, on to the GIVEAWAY!!!! FJ, over at FJ's Fitness Blog reviewed the FitDeck Bodyweight Playing Cards a while back. You can check out his review here. He had pros and cons to them BUT felt they were great for beginners to intermediate and not so much for advanced people. This is what he had to say on the good end:
"Let’s start with the good – For $14.95 this is a pretty decent set to own for anyone who is a beginner/intermediate (which is most people). The randomization of workouts that you can get out of the cards along with the massive amount of games that you can come up with is awesome.
I’d also consider this deck portable and you can always spice up your normal cardio workout by shuffling the deck and injecting a simple routine that you’ve never done before. I believe boredom is one of the main culprits of quitters… and if you own a FitDeck, there is no way you’ll ever get bored. I tried plenty of different workouts and it was different every time. Sometimes you even get rewarded because you’ll pull out a card, do the exercise and the next one is a 30 second water break and you’re like … today is my lucky day!”.
Then at other times you get NO break while pulling out the “double next card” and you feel like death. This is all in good fun."
From Jody: To me, sounds like a good thing for many of you to use even at the gym to spice it up OR while traveling OR at home OR at the beach OR at the park.. you get my drift!
FJ has been kind enough to partner with me to GIVE AWAY the FitDeck Bodyweight Playing cards!!!

Hmmm, well, that would be a yoga forearm plank, and then with "weights" it would be deadlift row.
Have a great day!

Love it. I call it the "I-Bar" because it's shaped like an "I". Agreed, great for doing bicep curls too!
