Jamie Oliver Petition; Protein Bars

So Tuesday I had my obesity/Jamie Oliver post. Just in case you did not click on the link, you can sign the petition here to help Jamie. This is what the site says:
Sign Jamie's petition to save cooking skills and improve school food.
I support Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution. America's kids need better food at school and better health prospects. We need to keep cooking skills alive.
Jamie would like to take his petition to the White House after the TV series airs, to show The President and First Lady how many people across the country really care about this and ask for their support.
The main page for his site is: Jamie Oliver's Food revolution. Please check it out & my Tuesday post if you missed it.
Protein Bars:

Back on March 26, I did a post on low carb protein bars from April's site. The pic is below. So in that post I mentioned that the texture of the bar was a bit different like tofu or flan. WELL, I NEED TO TAKE THAT BACK! I spoke to April and she said that the texture should have been more bread like. So, I decided to try again. I think you all know that I have said many times how poor a cook/baker I am so I needed to try again! I was going to anyway!
This time around I cooked them a tiny bit longer & they did come out more bread like! Much better texture & taste plus I used a combo of both vanilla & banana protein powders. I will say this though: There is a fine line between cooking them just right & either under or overcooking them so you may want to experiment with your oven to get just the right amount of time. For mine, it was about 33 minutes. This batch, I LOVED!!!!!!!! All natural ingredients too!!!! Give them a try & if you have flavored protein powders, mix it up & see which you like the best!

thanks for the link, i happily signed the petition.
i'm impressed that you would keep working on the protein bar recipe. i am lazy and need to buy my bars, i don't have time to experiment with cooking. i already feel like the time when my kids are at school is too short.

Jody, I missed this recipe as well as the brownie one. Both seem to be things that fit my way of eating. Thanks for passing them on!

I love what Jamie Oliver is doing too! Too bad it wasn't someone from the US to take charge...but he can also use his fame...we need to change the way our kids eat before it is too late!

So glad they came out! I'm also in a high altitude so maybe that was the difference? What brand of banana protein powder do you have?? That sounds good!
And I signed the petition!

Why is it that Jamie Oliver "gets it" while some other toolbags sit around and follow some stupid ass diets or take completely the wrong approach?
Since he's taking the right approach, I'll sign that shit fo sho!
P.S- Protein bar looks good. Send me some!
