Leg/Butt Move; You are Worth It!

Yesterday I did my tough love post. It was all about making time for your health & life. I am not saying you have to do what I do.. heck, most people don't even want to come close to that BUT you can take steps to improve your life & body. Baby steps are a good way to start. Don't try to overwhelm yourself with everything at once. A lot of people do this & then become frustrated with either the time commitment being too much, their body in pain from doing too much exercise too fast or they may eliminate so many foods from their "diet" that it becomes a mental I can't eat anything type of attitude.
Think through a plan of action that works for you & go from there. Most times, once you get started & do it the SMART way, you start to feel better & the better you feel, the more you want to keep going. If things become boring or tedious or frustrating, DON'T GIVE UP! Just rework the program & move forward!!! YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As yes, my towel in the pic above. Don't you love it! One of me down by the beach area in southern CA. We are having some wonderful weather before it changes again this weekend. The other, in my gym! So, for those that have been reading me for a bit know I won that Inperspire towel saying contest over at GirlGetStrong a while back - To lift is to be. To be is to lift. Thx to all that voted for me! Well, Inperspire has a blog area & they are challenging people to work out. The person that works out the most in a given period of time wins a towel!!! Well, I won! I got to pick a towel of my choice and this is the one I picked!!! Pretty nice, isn't it!
And an update on my winning towel. They are out of production & should be shipping/received at Inperspire soon!!!! Once I get my winning towel, another pic will be forthcoming!!!! How exciting!
OK, now for the new move for the legs/butt area!!!! It is actually 2 moves you know combined into one move. It sounds simple BUT I promise you that once you do it, you will feel it!!!!!! Here it is:
Squat/Lunge Move: You can do this with a barbell, dumbbells, Smith Machine, holding weight plates... whatever floats your boat! Start by doing a squat to parallel (or as close as you can get). Press up & then immediately step your right leg forward into a lunge. Press back to the start position & squat again. Press up & step forward with your left leg into a lunge. Continue this way - squat-right leg lunge-squat-left leg lunge for the amount of repetitions you prefer to do with the weight you are working with.
Another way to do this move is exactly the same except after the squat, you step backwards into a reverse lunge & alternate the squat-lunge-squat-lunge that way.
Give both a try and mix it up too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow that squat lunge move sounds intense. I will let you know when I try it. Congrats on winning the towel - it is cool.

I love the way this move sounds! I do lunges every other day, and I swear they've kept my legs and butt perfectly toned, and pretty simply at that!
I don't do squats as much, but will try this today and see how it feels.
Thanks, and great towel!

I am worth it, but my legs/butt don't thank me immediately for those kinds of exercises! Thanks Jody!

Tying two themes together, forgive me:
You are WORTH IT, and ANY form of lunge is WORTH IT too.
Lunges and squats are the sum of balance, flexibility, strength, shaping, and can also provide a cardio element. Love this movement!!!
