Cookie Monster; Winter Blues; Pains that May Point to Cancer

Today I am sharing one of my fav Trader Joe's (TJ's) treat! Actually this "treat" has decent ingredients & maybe you want to eat it for a healthier snack. I actually break it up & get a couple servings out of it.. sometimes 3 depending on if I can control myself or not!

OK, now it is up to you on whether you can handle having these in the house!!!
I also want to share a couple links from the Dr. Oz site. I recorded this show & I know there are many people that get the winter blues when the weather stinks & they don't get enough sun. Here is what Dr. Oz had to say:
Get through the dark winter days with 5 tips to beat the winter blues:
- Peppermint oil – helps with sadness, depression. Inhale a whiff to give you’re a burst of energy.
- Florescent compact bulb – these bright lights can actual change the levels of melatonin in your brain inhibiting depression. They’re also very inexpensive!
- Chili peppers – contain capsaicin, which boots your energy and can enhance your circulation.
- Ginger tea – it boosts your metabolism, increasing weight loss!
- Gingko biloba – makes you more alert and boosts your brain-power.

Jody, I haven't had any problems with regards to comments.
I had never heard of some of those suggestion (RE: Dr. Oz). I'm interested in trying the peppermint oil one. Anything that can help the winter blues I'm going to try. I'm so sick of this snow! LOL

AFG, seems like you & a lot of other bloggers are tired of the snow! I am a baby. I am tired of the rain here in southern CA!!!

I'm able to comment and thanks again for such great info. It's alot but this stuff can really change your life. I really like the "tips." If any of your followers live in Atlanta, my fitness coach's studio, Body Solutions Atlanta has a "game/life changer" offer. Submit a nomination for "I'm in Love with a Loser" and win a FREE six month one on one weight loss program. It changed my life and I'd love to see it benefit another.

Oh yes, the fantastically delicious TJ's oatmeal cookie. I so miss Trader Joe's - we don't have one in GiTMO Cuba but if we did they would make a killing. I love these cookies. The nice thing is that even if you can't always keep from eating more than one at least they are not as bad as eating the"other" brands. However, for me, one hot oatmeal cookie with my PM tea was just enough to keep me from eating my weight in oreo cookies
Great tips and thanks for sharing the Dr. Oz post. Very important information.

Terie, that is my take on those cookies. Healthy ingredients & yummy too! They are actually by Zen Bakeries but TJ's put them under their own label. They are almost $2 more at Whole Foods & Mother's Market under the Zen Bakery label.

Also, any citrus oils diluted in a difuser and sprayed in the room or onto the body will help fight the blues.

I have bad seasonal affective disorder and I can't say enough good things abuot my "happy light"! It's not the same as using just regular flourescent bulbs - they're much brighter but I see a huge difference when I use my light and when I don't!
PS> TJ's has the BEST SNACKFOOD!
