LA Boxing Giveaway; Pics of Me Boxing!

For those that follow me regularly, you know that I got a 30 day free membership to LA Boxing. I took both their kickboxing classes AND one of the straight boxing the bag class from the Lake Forest, CA location. Man, both workouts are amazing and they also have Jiu Jitsu, kids classes and more! If you missed my posts, the links are below. The kicking pic above shows me doing a knee kick vs. that shin kick that bruised me up!
Out of My Comfort Zone! Thank You's!

Boxing Update; Giveaway Information
So, I did do one more kickboxing class since I last posted about this & it was just as great as the others! I will say though that I must have wimp shins! They hurt for days after while the rest of my bod did fine. I think if I were to do this on a regular basis, I would probably get shin guards & that would allow me to kick that bag harder!!!! Unfortunately I can't afford a membership right now so I will do some of the moves at home or the gym but without the bag. I can do that to keep my heart up in bewteen sets of weights or ab moves! Well, I don't rest between sets right now anyway but the moves are a good workout too!
So, I am so excited to say that I am able to GIVE AWAY ONE (1) FREE 30 DAY TRIAL MEMBERSHIP TO LA BOXING!!! THEY PROVIDE YOU WITH A PAIR OF THE BOXING GLOVES TOO for that time period! All of the clubs are independently owned and run. Corporate makes suggestions to all clubs which most abide by but at the end of the day, they can do what they want because they are their own club. The first corporate club is opening soon in North Las Vegas for those there. So, get on the site link & see if you have a club close enough to you to try this out! Each club is different again so they may offer different classes & times. Check it out! The one I went to was very clean & well serviced with helpful & friendly people & owners. If you want to challenge yourself, get out of that comfort zone & burn some major calories while working all aspects of the bod, give this a try!
I will leave this Giveaway open through Sunday, January 24, 2010 at 6pm PST. Winner will be announced Monday, January 25, 2010.
To enter, just leave a comment on how you are pushing out of your comfort zone either fitness or life wise and/or why you want to box/kickbox!

I love the pictures! Go Jody!! I really enjoy the punching component of The 30 Day Shred and think it would be a fun workout to try. Doing the video at Christmas for MizFit's online blogger talent show was getting myself way out of my comfort zone!

No gym near me that offers it (too bad!), but it looks like fun!
Focused on my home remodel right now and just doing the minimum. I'm very much looking forward to *pushing* again. Oh wait, I added Pilates, which I'm horrible at, but having loads of fun.

I would love to win this. There's one by my house..it's about 1.2 miles away from my house. I would love to challenge myself..never tried boxing before.

Hang in there missy, takes slightly longer than 30 days to get those shin conditioned
But once they are... you'll have two baseball bats at your disposal.
You know, in case you need to kick some ass one day. Don't count me in for the give away though; not sure what I can do with an LA gym membership trial.
P.S- I like how you're keeping them arms UP!

L o o k i n g G O O D!! I'd love to win the 30 day membership since I've haven't done any kickboxing or boxing since I quit instructing. LA Fitness has expanded into this area, so there's several new ones relatively close to me. I've been really pushing it with the HIIT on my elliptical machine--sometimes I hit the wall, but then after I recover a bit, I continue on. . . yikes!

You look amazing!! your in such good shape!!
I love kickboxing! It's so much more fun than doing the same thing over and over again (elliptical, running, etc.) It's also a great stress reliever!

Yeah you look pretty buff, and pretty tough, Jody! When I was in middle school, I used to hang a bag filled with the family's laundry that mom hadn't done yet for the week and punch that lol! That was fun! Wanting to be a surgeon, I was warned about damaging my hands with all the martial arts I wanted to do, never happened! The worst hand injury I've had, so far, was while playing basketball, go figure
Keep it up, you're gaining on Bruce Lee!

I would love to try kickboxing, unfortunately I am soo uncoordinated..might be a disaster! I've inherited my brother in laws P90X, so I have started pushing myself in a whole other direction than I'm used to at the gym! Esssh..and I am feelin' it!
