Today Is a Special Day! Fitness Gifts

Wednesday, December 23, 2009

Today is a very special day!!!! What you say.. what could have possibly happened to make it so special? Well, it is the day my hubby was born. YES! Today is my husband's bday!!!!! How exciting is that. Poor guy, so close to Christmas (he is not Jewish like me). BUT, I always separate it out to make his day special. Hey, we all get our days thru the year & I feel so bad for those that are close to holidays & get their special day lumped in with the holiday. So, today is HIS day although we may actually celebrate it with his daughter/fiance on Christmas or after when we all can get together. But saying that, I will have something special for him today! (FJ, get your mind out of the gutter along with a few others out there! Although FJ has a mind that works that way anyway... as do I!) Actually, I really can't believe my hubby puts up with me & has for over 26 years!!!!! Poor guy!!!!! I am not the easiest person to live with & admit that whole heartedly!

OH, I did kickboxing yesterday!!!
Will chat about it next week but another great workout!

Today I want to offer up some cool fitness related gifts for whoever.. even you!!! I saw them on The Today Show & I think you may like some of them OR all of them!

1. Hamilton Beach Set ‘n Forget 6-Qt. Programmable Slow Cooker

Slow CookerPer the show, "This product has earned great consumer ratings and is a generous 6-quart size, so you can really feed a crowd. The cooker automatically shifts over to “keep-warm” mode after your meal is fully cooked, so it’s hot and ready no matter what time you finally sit down to dinner. There’s also an innovative probe setting — the machine cooks meat and poultry to a desired internal temperature and then keeps it warm up until supper time."

2. Zoku Quick Pop Maker

Quick Pop MakerAgain, per the show, "makes customized frozen ice pops right on your counter in as few as seven minutes. Concoct nutritious frozen treats using 100 percent fruit juices, non-fat or low-fat yogurt, and pureed fruits (blended watermelon is great, when it’s in season). You can even make colorful, layered popsicles using several types of juice. Fruit pops make a terrific, low-cal snack for kids, and with the Zoku, they’ll have just as much fun making them as eating them."

3.
Republic of Tea - Chocolate Teas

Chocolate Tea"Republic of Tea recently launched two brand-new COCOA teas: Double Dark Chocolate Mate and Coconut Cocoa Tea. These gourmet chocolate teas are the first of their kind. They’re flavored with real cocoa powder, so they give you the taste and aroma of fine chocolate — but for virtually zero calories!" Oh, come on, now those sound yummy!

4.
Urban Rebounder

Urban Rebounder"The Urban Rebounder turns the standard, recreational trampoline into a full-fledged fitness machine. The set comes with 6 different DVD workouts that teach you how to use the tool for both cardio and resistance training, all while improving your balance and coordination. The rebounder mat acts as a shock absorber, so you get a safe, low-impact workout that’s easy on the joints. Plus, there’s an added element of fun that’s unfortunately missing from many people’s exercise routines."  Now, here is a way to have some fun & add variety to your home routine if you have about $90!

5.
BodyHoops Hula Hoops

Hula Hoops"Thanks to some special features, there’s almost no learning curve, so they’ll be dancing and twirling like pros from the get-go. BodyHoops are sturdy and durable (not flimsy and featherlight, like cheaper versions), plus they’re lined with a special grip tape that helps keeps the hoops up on your hip so you can twist and twirl longer. The hoops are slightly weighted (1-2 pounds), so teens and adults can even use them as a fun workout tool to get their blood pumping, strengthen their core, and tone all over. BodyHoops come in a variety of sizes and colors (even glittery designs, perfect for girls who love glitz and glam), and they’re made right here in the USA. Who agrees it’s time for a hula hoop revival?!" For $25 & up, you may want to add this to your home work out & you CAN'T say that you can't do this while watching TV or during commercials.. well, if you have the room in your TV room.
