Cold vs. H1N1 Flu Symptoms PLUS Healthcare

Sunday, October 18, 2009

There is so much on the news these days about the flu and the H1N1 Flu. My sister forwarded the chart below to me & I thought it would be a good thing to share since there does seem to be quite a few cases of death out there due to the H1N1 Flu virus. As we all know, prevention is key so take steps to wash your hands. In the gym, take appropriate precautions. I wipe down all the equipment I use & I also bring 2 towels, one for the equipment/bench and one to wipe my face. I did this long before this flu deal. Better safe than sorry!

Also, for those that missed my post on Healthcare Reform, please check it out. You can also read more at The Great Fitness Experiment here. I also watched a Dr. Oz show where he took his Dr. Oz bus on the road to Houston, Texas & did a free clinic that served over 1780 people. There are people just like you & me.. not what you may think of as the uninsured. It was heart wrenching & sad & crazy that this is the case in this country!

In addition, if you want to see the states where it is LEGAL FOR INSURANCE COMPANIES TO CONSIDER DOMESTIC VIOLENCE A PRE-EXISTING CONDITION & REASON TO DENY COVERAGE, check out this article, Another Blow For Battered Women: Health Insurers Deny Coverage for Victims. And if that is not enough, I saw a story on a woman that was denied coverage because she had a C-section when she delivered her last child & they would only give her health insurance if she got sterilized!!!!! Come on! What is going on in this country letting insurance companies do this!
