"Linking" You to Health
Happy weekend to all.. or those that don't have to work this weekend & maybe can catch up on some sleep and R&R. We all know how important sleep is even if we have to admit that we don't get the recommended hours each night.Today I am going to offer up some links to sites that can help you with your exercise program. AND, for those walkers & joggers out there, you don't want to miss this & I know I have readers that love to jog & walk outside! I also have a couple great articles to share.
(1) I read at least a year ago about a site called MapMyRun. I even posted about it on my old & long gone blog. Well, just recently I heard a news story about that site along with a couple others that I had not heard about. Here is some of the article, Web sites help you plan your next run :
"Just enter a zip code or a city into an online running Web site like MapMyRun, Google's Gmaps Pedometer, or Sanoodi, and it will display a map of an entire area for you. From there you can navigate to pinpoint your location and start planning your route before you ever set out the door. Some sites calculate the distance of your run, while others allow you to check elevation. It is like having the inside track from another runner. If you're somewhat familiar with the area, you can map out and see where the streets lead. If you're unfamiliar with it you can just look at the area and determine where you want to go," said Pirkey. "Runners are anxious. They want to pre-prepare before they get to a particular city or town," said McGillivray. "If you can plan ahead and know what route that you are running, it can make it a lot less stressful," said Pirkey.
From Jody: I really like this. Even here at home, I have a route I jog & I guessed at the miles I was jogging but by using MayMyRun, I could get a more exact number. PLUS, really cool for traveling too!
(2) I know many blogs post about how great their local farmers markets are & the great produce you can get there. Well, here is a site that can help you search for your local farmers market: Local Harvest. There is a lot of other cool info on the site. Check it out! I found this off of Ideal Bite & here is a link to a yummy salad from there that you can modify the ingredients as needed: Strawberry and Grilled Chicken or Tofu Salad
(3) Cellulite. Yes, maybe if you slather some of those creams with caffeine in them on your legs YOU MAY get some temporary difference.... but it will be temporary. Shauna, over at Female Fitness Files, wrote a good post called, How Do I Get Rid of Cellulite. It debunks all the craziness surrounding this word. Read it at the previous link. She has some other great posts to read as well! She also has written an ebook about weight loss for the everyday woman to be released in the future. I will be reading it & reviewing on my site in the future. How exciting!
(4) Water. Yup, there is always another article about water. There was a good one on Fit Bottomed Girls about flavored water yesterday. I have had this article for a while & it shares it's Top 5 Reasons for Drinking Water. Read full article at previous link. Me, I can attest to 1 & 2!
1. Aids in digestion and assimilation and absorption of nutrients. 2. Assists in the excretion of waste and toxins from your kidneys and bowels. 3. Allows you to not drink your calories. 4. Gives your brain a boost. 5. Keeps you young!
OK, some links for you & plenty to read.. like you need more!!!
Have a great one!

Thanks for the mention Jody!
Also, water helps fight fatigue and headaches. I know when I haven't consumed enough water because I get a pounding headache!

Physical fitness comprises two related concepts: general fitness (a state of health and well-being) and specific fitness (a task-oriented definition based on the ability to perform specific aspects of sports or occupations).
