Eat This, Not That: Healthiest/Unhealthiest Restaurants & Fast Food Survival

Friday, March 27, 2009

The Eat This, Not That guy has written a ton of books on how to make better choices when eating out at restaurants, fast food restaurants & even a supermarket and family/kids survival guide! David Zinczenko, who writes these books, has been seen on many news programs, entertainment programs & more!

David has come out with his version of the unhealthiest restaurants (getting a D+ to a F), the healthiest restaurants (getting an A to a B+) & a fast food "eat this, not that" survival guide.

So, for the unhealthiest restaurants, they go from Baskin Robbins down to the "F" ones like Applebee’s, IHOP, Outback, T.G.I. Friday’s. There is even a survival guide to try to help you make better decisions. Wait until you read some of the calories, fat & sodium content here.. YIKES! Read about them here: Unhealthiest Restaurants

Now for the healthiest restaurants from Chick-fil-A (an A) to Wendys (B+). Once again, there is a survival guide to help you make better decisions since there is junk everywhere as we well know! Read more here: Healthiest Restaurants

Then we have the fast food survival guide which helps you make better choices again & also how to "special order"! That is me.. I am Sally from When Harry Met Sally" for those of you that know the movie.. one of my favorites! For example, swap out mayo for another condiment like mustard or fat free/low fat dressing for the full fat & get it on the side! You all know the drill!More on that here: Fast Food Survival Guide

Diet Detective also came out with their list of America's Worst Calorie Rip-offs. Some of these are the same but just reading the calorie & fat content.... HOLY CRAP!!!!! I know this but many just don't think twice about what they are putting in their mouth & then wonder why they are overweight.  For example, Burger King's Tendercrisp Chicken Sandwich at 780 calories, 44g fat, 73g carbs or McDonald's Chicken Selects Premium Breast Strips (10 pieces) at 1,270 calories, 66g fat, 92g carbs. Read it all at the link above in this paragraph.

Now, I really don't eat any of these things & I am not a fast food person.. but many are so this can help them. Many people are just clueless or like to "lie to themselves" too. If you are eating this stuff already, small changes along the way will help you lose weight & fat.. and hopefully lead you to eat much better in the long run.
If nothing else, it is a huge eye opener & maybe a wake up call for those that pay no attention.

For those of us that already know this, all we can do is shake our heads!
