Trainer Motivation Tips; New Link on my Site
We all have motivation pitfalls at some point in regards to eating better and exercising. There are many articles out there that help you through this. I love reading them but ultimately it comes down to finding what works for you among all that advice out there. Maybe I will dedicate a post soon to the different methods I use myself. Today, though, I want to share an article with you from ACE (American Council on Fitness), a fitness certification group. I was reading the Fit Bottomed Girl site & came on this article about "The Top 9 Tips of What Trainers do for their Own Workouts". There is a lot to help you here & in fact, I do a lot of them myself. There are tips such as include exercise as part of your daily commute, schedule your workouts for the week ahead of time, cross- train, circuit train, up the intensity and more. I know you have all read my posts on most of these too. For example, include exercise as part of your daily commute. Now after reading the article, you may not do exactly what it says but why not walk the stairs at work rather than take an elevator. Walk over to talk to someone rather than call. Do butt squeezes in the car. Park a bit farther away from the work entrance or store if safe. There are lots of ways to add in exercise. On cross training, this will fend off boredom for people that get bored easily along with helping to minimize repetitive stress injuries. I am a fan of circuit training. I do move from exercise to exercise during my weight routine & even use "the active rest" principle mentioned in the article. Abs is one of my active rest activities. There is a paragraph about a trainer that wears a heart rate monitor. She states: “As silly as it sounds, seeing that digital trophy icon on the watch indicating that I’ve hit my goals for the week really motivates me to keep going.” This could help you too! Read the article here & I know some of these will definitely help you! The Top 9 Tips of What Trainers do for their Own Workouts
I also want to point out a new link on my Favorite Sites list. You will see it at the bottom of the list - "AI Meal Planner for Unlimited Free Diet Plans". Click on this link & it will take you to the AI Diets site. This site is "a set of tools designed to make it easier for people to design a "diet" (for lack of a better word) over which they have complete control with a minimum of effort. The main feature is the diet plan generator where users can enter how many calories, carbs, fat, protein, meals per day, budget and preferences (through a "favorites" list) and the tool will pick a combination of foods, with recipes, that the user should look to eat in order to achieve their goals." There are a lot more things you can do here like a weight & food log, a BMR calculator and more. It is free if you register. I encourage you to check it out!
